Randy Blithe is a fucking AMAZING singer, holy balls. They had this big elaborate stage set up with ramps and shit and their album cover behind them, it was pretty cool.

IMO he's one of few genuinely talented screamers, he just sounds authentic. And Adoration for None is indeed twice heavier with him
Oh and I saw Opeth like two weeks ago. Akerfeldt was hilarious (does he always tell the public things like "you're so awesome I'm gonna get a wank when back in hotel"?) and just a perfect performer, singing was perfect and he didn't look like all of it was any effort for him.
Besides, they're apparently band for tall people, it was tallest (and most annoying due to that, shorter people didn't see shit I guess) audience I've ever seen.

It was an odd show. Sometimes the bass was so resonant it rattled my teeth and my chair =/

Devy, spelled Devy! wrote:^ LOLS really?! That's awesome. At the show I saw, he was very witty and it seemed effortless there as well. I hope I'm in for a treat come May when they're coming here. Anyone know how tall Mendez is? He's a good looking guy, albeit quite wee. Just curious. No offense to him or anything. Oh, and Axenrot looks like Legolas IMO.
Anyways, the last show I saw was just this Wednesday. Wasn't my idea, but I went anyway. They were called Bohren and Der Club of Gore. That name's pretty metal, but it was actually painfully slow ambient jazzI love jazz, I love ambient.... but please: I need a tempo above 50 BPM for at least some of the songs. And the opening act was interesting... but not my cup of tea. It was this dude who was dressed in a black, hooded cape, and he would sing into a microphone and then loop and layer his voice. There were probably 30-40 vocals layers. He was kind of going for the Druid look or something... reminded me of the whole "Stonehenge" ordeal in Spinal Tap
