It's very different from the original - simpler, more linear and streamlined. Still good and addictive though. And buggy as hell, I'm considering stopping playing till they address some of the game altering bugs. Like the one with SHIVs, I can't deploy them and lose soldiers due to that. Which is bad, since I'm running out of shitty local C-list celebrity names to name my recruits :(

Yeah, I've been playing this a lot too and while it's amazing it is so freaking glitchy. I was playing a mission where I fired a rocket at two Mutons, and it crashed the game. I reloaded the save and fired the rocket again, and the game crashed again. And it seems to slow down all the time, I play on a PS3 and often times its running at 50 FPS. I love it so much, but it really feels like it's in beta still.

That said, arcade mode is so enjoyable that I'm neglecting the story mode. I'll get around to it.

It's good fun, hey?

Oh yeah. When the bosses aren't blatantly cheating of course.
(Doesn't every pissed off gamer say that?)

you should do the Tower missions in MK. They are insanely hard the further you get but it's really great training.

^I'm doing them as well. Up to number 49 now I think. The 2 on 1 missions with those get to me most, but they're also the most satisfying to conquer.

I started on that after I finished the story and gave up so fast after I found out that the reward at the end wasn't a cool hidden character or something but was actually just for people who need to get off to video games because they don't have access to the internet or any women at all ever.

But you get a SHINY TROPHY.

Yeah, it is pointless innit.

well, I didn't give a crap about the trophy (I don't play enough PS3 games to really give a damn). It was just challenging and fun. Yup, you read that right. Playing a game just for fun and not for rewards. Remember that? That's how we played back in the 80's and 90's.

I have access to both, yet will still gladly welcome the acheivement.
Eventually.

According to Rockstar, GTA V will have a map bigger than GTA IV, San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption combined. There are also three protagonists to play and switch between. Sweet Jesus.
Read about here.

XCOM has been glitchy as hell, so I am glad I'm not the one at our home playing it
Now Mists of Pandaria have landed here, so I have been watching a lot of pandas bouncing around.
We decided to make some changes to our furniture plan, and I ended up not having internet connection on my computer and no TV channels, which though is not bad.
So, I've had to entertain myself with Xbox, and downloaded a huge bunch of Kinect games to keep me occupied!
Hole in the wall was hilarious, though baggy home pants and huge afrowannabehair is not something too suitable to have on while playing
Star Wars game was horrible, dubbed in finnish -> straight to hell.
Kinectimals was the one I spent most time with, believe it or not.
Avengers smash & hit-game was meh, had some idea but didn't feel like worth buying even if it cost less than 15 euros.. No way.
Of course all the games were just free demos, I don't have money to buy anything :D
It really came to show that though I would LOVE to have all kinds of cool games for Kinect, it just.. doesn't seem to happen.
All the graphics are like from 8-bit Nintendo (to put it harshly) and controls even though quite accurate and working quite well, just way too similar.
Dancing and sports game have the best advantages here, because when you dance, you move. When you do sports, you move.
Usually when you play, you only use your hands.
Oh well, I need to go home now, so bye! :D

Finished Prototype 2. Massive mayhem is great, but when you've got your character updated to the max the challenge sort of ceases to exist. Also the main character is really weird, having no objections murdering tons of people throughout the game but suddenly deciding not to kill someone because he has a family. Sense was not made of this. So the storytelling and character development is pretty awful, but the action the game presents is very entertaining.

Also, those GTA V updates...

Picked up the Devil May Cry HD Collection on sale earlier, and I've been playing that recently.

Holy early-2000s game design, Batman. (Yeah, obviously, but still.)

I did forget how much fun the games could be, though, and it's always nice to see some actual challenging gameplay in this current gaming climate.

^Those are awesome (and quite life-like with a few)! Can't wait for the upcoming new trailer.
