I am OUTTA HERE!

The news on the ABC (Govt. owned TV station here, and usually the least tabloid of all of the media lunatics) breathlessly announced this in sensational breaking news this morning as:
"New Planet Found Just Outside Solar System"...... :furious:

Seriously, the mainstream fucking media should stay the cunt out of astronomy.[/rant]

Typical.
The day after Amazon finally decide to send a replacement for my MIA DSOTM Immersion...the original arrives in the Post.
The cardboard box looks as if it had been through the battle of Stalingrad and Australia Post had to rewrap it, but thankfully the discs all seem viable.

My grandfather is in the hospital for three days due to a problem with his white blood cells, currently getting treatment. I spoke to him this morning, he said that it isn't life threatening (so long as treatment is applied), just a nuisance. Here's to a speedy recovery.

I second that! :)

I can relate. Don't really know if it's particularly healthy to be at work when ill, but we are understaffed at my place of employment as well. :(

AND...vet just called with Rowan's blood work. He has hyperthyroidism. Which means medication, which will be great fun to give because Rowan is a completely sentient being and takes no shit from anyone...healthy otherwise, which is great news.

Good to hear. :)

Meanwhile, I think it is safe to assume that the cortisone in my left knee has worn off. :damage:
Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. Hopefully the Doc will puncture me again, so I can get back to doing normal human activities...like walking.

My wife bought Christmas tree today. Put it up and decorated it. This is something she is very good at.
She asked my opinion.
It looks striking, and very festive but somehow it doesn't have the impact it normally has. The centre of the tree seems oddly bare, making it look like a shell of lights and decoration around a hollow core.

Wrong. Fucking. Answer.

In our family it's generally in the first week of December!
