I just swapped my old 17" CRT to shiny new 22" LCD panel and now it feels like I have acres of space on my desktop (both real and virtual one). Hooray technology.

I've had a 20" widescreen monitor for about 2 years now I think. I totally love it, love the large area and I would never want to go back to a 'square' monitor again. Took some time getting used to not maximizing every window though

As for the Acer Aspire One... I've never found working on a laptop quite as comfortable as working on a desktop computer, only because of the fact that the screen is attached to the keyboard. Add to that the fact that your new monitor is only a forth of the size of that CRT you have, and that you're definitely going to notice the small keyboard. I've tried typing on an Asus Eee PC and failed horribly

I'd just like to say that I think those netbooks are far from ideal for everyday working use. Good luck to you though
