My dogs kick up the grass afterwards too! Makes me giggle. It's funny how one will pick up behaviors from another. Pippin just started doing this a couple months ago (he's the baby of the family), as Rosie has always performed this...bit of lawn maintenance I suppose.
Actually, dogs do that to help spread their scent as a warning to would-be interlopers. Anubis does it as well...looks like he's trying to kickstart something!
Thanks Tim, that's great! Not going to be able to get a dog of our own for a good few years yet, but it's good to research it. I've always heard that Huskies have very loving and trusting natures, which I like, but that other stuff has really worried me, I'll definately have to carry on the research

Yeah and remember when researching that most pet stores + breeders have ulterior motives. Rescues, shelters, breed-specific social clubs etc. care about the animals on a non-monetary, often individual basis.
Besides that... the pet store "expert" I deal with sometimes likes to tell me the definitive set of behaviors for my cats. Out of the 13 domestic cats I've cared for regularly (and for that matter the shelter kitties I visited regularly) none of them engage in the "normal feline behaviors"

They really are great dogs. You'll just need to Husky-proof your house a bit if you decide to get one! A high fenced yard, lots of toys and attention, and eyes in the back of your head to make sure your pup doesn't head for the horizon when you open the door to get a package!
http://www.siberianrescue.co.uk/ might be a good resource for you too. I can't stress enough that rescues usually have the best handle of the true nature of the dogs. Sometimes they even have events like meet-and-greets to both collect donations and advertise the need for homes. Even if you don't go home with a dog, you get to scratch the bellies of a lot of Huskies.
Talk about time well spent!
Sorry i don't have an updated photo of my dog.
It's a Jack Russell crossed with a Terria, very small dog it's name is "Jemima".

Too much Dev in your diet, methinks.

We are Strapping Young Lad from Canada and you are not.
here are my dogs
The dog furthest away from the camera hurt her leg yesterday so we took her to the vet today. The vet informed us that she had bone cancer, and that she is in extreme pain and our best choice is to put her to sleep. She cant even walk
. So we are going to put her to sleep tomorrow
