I had the morning off work so I thought i'd give this a quick go. It's only the first 2 minutes because I'm incredibly lazy (getting this far was hard enough) It's not perfect and my guitar didn't like open c tuning but it's reasonable. No keys or bass :( My ambition is to one day actually finish a song!

I think I'd better finish it first to be honest! Give me a year or so

Awesome work Olik! I would love to hear the whole song done in this quality.

Keep at it!

Thanks! I've replaced the other version and redone the guitars a bit. Around 4 and a half minutes is done. Should hopefully finish the rest tonight.

That's pretty cool. You play it well! It's just the high strings that are a little out, I'm looking forward to hearing the new version.

Incidentaly, I was listening to AE for the first time in a year or so and it was up to Deadhead when I found your post, heh... Great song, one of Devin's very best.

Okie dokie, just finished the guitars and drums! Not perfect (the stretch from 3 to 8 frets not clean at all) Anyone want a go at the vocals?

Just redone a section and changed the guitar tone. I'm finished this time I swear!

Cool, I like the sound. I'm still trying to get drum sounds like that, but for me it's still midi shit.

So you really have to stretch from 3 to 8 to play this part ? Meeeh...
What if I shrink my guitar ? Will the sound be the same ?   j/k
Like in that guitar video from Paul Gilbert, I think he streches from 4 to 10 or maybe 11... :?
And if you move the 8 to the upper string ?
E--
C-3
G--
C-3
G--
C-3

and alternate with
E--
C-2
G--
C-3
G--
C-3
it's not exactly the same sound...

And how do you play the intro ?
From the 12th fret ? The 7th ? With the strings open ?

And congrats, good job !^^

Thanks, the drums are really basic, I just made them in leaf drum and slotted them all together. I ripped the snare sound somewhere off Neurosis-Through Silver In Blood and the kick drum is a DFH sample I think.

The guitars are just lined in with my amp recorded 4 times, Amplitube used on one channel.

The intro starts off on the twelve fret on the low C. There's a powertab available on the Powertab website thats useful.

BTW 3 to 8 is not that bad but you have to barre the 3rd fret as well. Killed my hands :(

Is this a massive download or has my connection gone crazy, I really want to hear this :(

Is that Portsmouth UK or US?

It was obviously my connection at work...perhaps they've started limiting my bandwidth, haha

Great job :D

Thanks! I'm also in Portsmouth UK, studying at the university. Not there at the moment but kind of miss it.
