simply put - visit maplins (do you get them in quebec? another idea is radio shack - don't have them here in scotland but I know they've got lots of parts.) and ask for a 1/4 inch to RCA adaptor. worked for me and my 2496.

all I gotta do now is get better leads and a stereo lead for my V-Amp. sounds great through headphones but putting the mono lead into the stereo input sounds terrible!

Finaly I think I'll buy the POD XT! With a USB connection the POD actually performs as your soundcard so the analog to digital is performed on the POD and transfered via USB. I've looked on the line6 forums and some people have great results. With that solution I don't even have to buy a new soundcard!

AS for you stereo problem, what I think is best is to record on a stereo track the mono input of your guitar on one channel, and record the same music on the the other channel so you have a great stereo sound. You can also copy the left channel onto the right but since it's exactly the same signal it doesn't feel as real as re-recording the same track.

I like to record two stereo guitars and place them left and right in the mix, it gives it a bit more breathe and three dimensionality to things.

hmmm...I do somethign a bit different. For rythm guitar, I'll record the same part 4 to 6 times (actually played and recorded, not copied) but I won't say what I do with them. Lets just say that I create the largest soundstage possible without creating mud. It's all in panning, reveb, delay, volume, and precision.

Also, should I record the guitar tracks with distortion or should I record them clean and add distortion with a recording program (don't even know if this is possible)

I haven't had much time to mess around with it. I was finishing school at the time and had finals to worry about. . Then I had to go to Maryland for a week with my family. Now that I just got back and have the summer ahead of me, Ill probably get to dink around with it more. I'll let you know if I ever get it working

Ok, so I spent some time today messing with the volume settings of the mic on the line in on my computer and the volume on my GNX1.......and I finally found the right mix. My guitar no longer over distorts the sound and it actually sounds clean when its supposed to. Thanks for the help everyone!!

Ok....so one more question. I was noodling around on my guitar with my amp on clean, and for some reason, when i hit chords, its distorted a bit also.....I think the reason it was fine when I last tried it was I didnt play chords when trying it out (bad move on my part). So I'm guessing something else is distorting it.....

I have a Jackson DXMG. I'm pretty sure that it is the springs from the tremolo that are making the noise, but I'm not sure. Im positive its not my amp because I tried it with my fender and it was fine. Any ideas on how to stop it?

k, so I'm pretty sure its not the tremolo springs, so I think it might have something to do with my action, so Ill adjust it right now

Ok....so I adjusted the action and it fixed it......but the strings are really far off of the fretboard. I'd say about a 4th of an inch away. Is this normal?
