I was expecting some camera Angel changes on the SYL SO you can change the camera manual. Arr well still a good dvd. I showed it to ravers, they were well frighted. Made me smile.

that sounds fucking hot as shit.

but don't make the dvd 5.1 surround, only make it stereo, because surround sound is a shitty gimmick... it was invented by the same arseholes who promote fucking Jet instead of your music Devin, all in the interest of getting money for themselves.
But a dvd would be hot, fucking hot as shit.

cheers.

if there is going to be this many extras and features in so many discs would it be possible to present it in a boxset format? it could be like the slayer boxset and have bonus shit like a fake DTB pass and a poster and stuff!!!!! This would be so cool!!!

I'd tend to agree. Loads of people own a DVD player, but for 5.1 you need a home cinema setup, which is something of a luxury and most people I know can't be bothered with it (apart from me in fact).

Dream Theater's Metropolis 2000 DVD is only 2.0 and that sounds superb.

Maybe a 2.0 and 5.1 option would be the best solution, so little Timmy in his bedroom can enjoy the DVD as much as a 28 year old geek (like me!) :D

I read a few interviews where Devin said he would never play songs live from Physicist. Well, you won't hear me complaining, I like that record.

they definitely did it...but not with DTB. The thing is that the guitars are in a different tuning on Physicist and so it is not easy to fit those songs into a setlist.

So it is not the fact that Devy doesn't like the songs anymore. I hope that some day we might see an awesome Physi-Setlist.

I'm gonna add one wish to the list: Make the DVD with an anamorphic widescreen picture format. I hate that old-fashioned 4:3 shit some bands still keep releasing.

And the sound thing: 2.0 stereo mix with 5.1 surround would be the best option. There are lots of people who don't have 5.1 system, but on the other hand, it's respectful for those who have decided to invest in today's technology to include the 5.1 mix also. Same goes with the widescreen. It's nicer to watch widescreen stuff with old TV than 4:3 stuff with a new widescreen TV.

Hope this DVD doesn't sound as tinny as the SYL one...

Hmm.. I'm guessing that Dev is going to spend a lot more time on the DTB DVD than on the SYL.
The rumors are that the DTB one will be packed with extra's, contrary to the very little extra's on Aboot To Rock.

I actually like the mix on the SYL dvd because i can hear all the the other instruments better than before :D No complaints from my friends anyway!
how would 5.1 work any way? could you hear the crowd better in the back speakers or somthing...

Muhahahaa i have many raver friends that i would like to show it to :D and yes i hope it does scare them! Ive Converted one of them to Devin already ;)

Well I don't really care for 5.1 mixes on Music DVD's; most of the time it sounds too digital and less 'cosy'.
There's one DVD I liked the 5.1 sound from and that's the Live @ Budokan from Dream Theater.
