That sounds incredible, A live gig featuring as others have said old material as well as material from AE would godown so well, especially as I overheard you recently did "Life" live which you have not played on a UK setlist, songs like that mixed with "truth", "deadhead", "Canada" and other fantastic songs would be great however its all well and good having a live gig on DVD but what fans really love is backstage clips, at home clips, getting to know your musicians and there lifestyle, for example the Pantera Videos have always been a pleasure to watch not just for there, music videos and live gigs but the crazy home video style footage. a consideration maybe?

Any idea around when the DTB dvd will be released? The SYL dvd is awesome and just can't wait to see what he'll do for the DTB dvd.

Suggestions are as follows:

-I agree, put a guitar lesson, or perhaps a lesson on how you record or mix, just a sample on how you layer. It'd be like watching a Polka Dot Door Special hahaha

-more footage or an interview with you and other band mates

-interviews with the others at HDR...please get TRACY on there, just to say hi

-do a parody of 'cribs', show us your caves you hide in after the tours

-I think you should put on a contest like Charlie and the Chocolate factory where you put stickers in the package in the inlay and if you get the right one, you fly the fan out to your house and cook them dinner hahahahahaha you work for me bitch! ;)

-I would LOVE an acoustic set on one of the DVDs...

-please be sure to put a solo on there, I saw you do one in nov last year and it was such a good run.

-It would be great to have a virtual jam seesion with DTB...crank it and play with the band, but be able to choose the channel you can fill in for. IE: drums taken out so a drummer could jam with you guys...etc...oh and put the tabs for the songs so there isnt any discrepancy on how to play...tab as txt files :)

-an easter egg featuring zimmers would be nice...so I can show my friends what they missed

-put desktops and digital art on the dvds

-a pick, the brand you use...get the logo printed on it...c'mon don't be a jerk, do everything I say!!!! ;) j/k

-a lock from the skullet...k thats just disturbing

-a slice of heavy metal cheese hahaha

K thats enough for now...

Spare your 'breath', and underwear. They'll NEVER play any song from Physicist live. Devin plain doesn't like the record as much as the others.

dude, you're totally right about Dev's indifference i guess, but he's done Namaste and like, Victim or some other notable Physicist song as encores with DTB. Kingdom was also done in an earlier incarnation of the DTB, maybe that was the other P. song... in any case, they have done 'em live, but i'm in agreement about the possibility of Physicist songs on the DVD setlist being next to nil.

Really? They have done them live? Then I do apologise, I was not aware of this.
I read a few interviews where Devin said he would never play songs live from Physicist. Well, you won't hear me complaining, I like that record.

Are you sure that the DTB have played these songs? A few years back, when Dev was touring as himself with the SYL guys playing as his band they played a few songs off Physicist, but I didnt think the DTB had played anything from that album.

So I just (finally) got the SYL DVD and am a bigger fan than ever. SYL was a bit too heavy for me at first and I was much more into the DT Band (still am, too) but if you give it a few listens....wow. There was only one SYL DVD to be found in my hometown (Eau Claire, WI) and my buddy and I were looking for it the same day (I got it first- ha!).

But...as cool as the SYL dvd is, my heart almost stops at the very notion of a DTB dvd. Terria, Infinity and Ocean Machine are like medicine for life (with Physicist and AE not far behind). I'll probably become a hermit after the DVD comes out- I'll just stay in the house and watch it over and over.

I had the pleasure of seeing SYL last spring (in Minneapolis, opening for Meshuggah), but, sadly, this was before I really knew much about SYL or Dev in general, and I didn't appreciate the show as much as I should have (I spent most of the show in the balcony, peering down at Gene and trying not to drool at the sheer speed of it all). To see the DT Band live...well, I'd probably embarass myself- start crying like a little girl and curl up into the fetal position.

I read an interview with Dev that said if people really like the DT Band then he'll stick with that, but if they don't then he'll go on to other things (producing, etc.). That, my friends, would be utterly tragic. I await new DT material more than I await for any music in the world.
