Got a Gorerotted 'Only Tools And Corpses' tee in the mail on Friday....

I'm looking forward to the new Mastodon, have you heard that its a concept album about Moby Dick! Concept albums rule!
Kerrang gave it 5 out of 5, not that means a whole lot i guess.

Leviathan is great. Not sure if it will satisfy everyone who loves Remission though but I love it. At times, it sounds like they were listening to a lot of Neurosis before they recorded Leviathan IMO.

I hate anything having to do with Moby Dick. It stems from living near the port the ship sailed out of.

... I would think you guys were just making up about 75% of these bands. I don't know how many times I've wanted to go...

I bought:

Decayed Toenails - The Immortal Deathwish
Stench Lovers - Canned Hate
7" of Azazyel - God is Dead

Would you guys just go, "Oh yeah, mate, nice CDs" cause you don't want to admit you hadn't heard of those?

Anyway, I feel like such a dolt reading these posts. Or, I feel like someone who hasn't spent thousands of dollars on obscure death metal bands that know one even likes listening to. With all due respect. :D

The hilarious thing is most of the stuff we're talking about isn't that obscure... :D

Perhaps that isn't hilarious? hhmmm

I only buy about a cd a week, if I ever got a job, I'd descend into total obscure grind country. I'm kinda happy with my purchases, I can still see myself listnening to all of this stuff in ten years, and way beyond that for some things.

All those mtv bullshitters saying Leviathan was going to be Ride the Lightning.

Totally.

But people could equally come in a post their obscure indie rock purchases, and start ranting aobut the intricacies of post rock wankery. Dev and SYL just lends itself more to metal and progressive rock fans.

I live near...... oh wait, the only thing near me is famous for is Hollyoaks TV programme (even though it's filmed 30miles away), godawful indie band Mansun, Romans, and Michael Owen being born here.

I feel like someone who hasn't spent thousands of dollars on obscure death metal bands that know one even likes listening to.

half the death metal bands I mention seem to get that response when I mention them to people offline..... but then the guy I'm referring to is a big Dream Theater fan and also highly rates Celine Dion so....

anyway, got in the mail this morning from another trade:

Aborted - The Purity Of Perversion (with what is possibly one of the lamest attempts at cover art I've seen so far)
Malevolent Creation - In Cold Blood

2 T-shirts (via eBay).

An "I (heart) Cthulhu" (as you do... ) and one that says (in Latin):

Si Hoc Legere Scis Nimium Eruditionis Habes

Anyone care to take a stab? :?:
They took a while to get here from Tampa, Florida. Apparently they had a little trouble with a "hurricane"...

Yeah, right... :D
