I broke my poutine cherry yesterday.

Now my life is ruined. I want only for poutine.

It is a slippery slope. I'm not quite sure how something can taste so much yummier than the sum of its parts!

Currently cutting out dairy for a week and poutine sounds like the most appealing thing in the world right now :(

Sorry to torment you with visions of deliciousness!

I also had pulled pork and buffalo wings at the table and, yummy as they were (and not what I "should" be eating!), the poutine was all I could focus on.

I had a couple of sausages with cheese, mustard and barbeque sauce on two slices of wholemeal bread for lunch today. Yay, free work-supplied food.
Not complaining, they were tasty and saved me having to get my munchies elsewhere.

You know what's cool (...NOT!)? Moving.
What's cooler? Moving out temporarily because of renovations.
Even cooler? Ending up with stuff to pack on the last night and not getting finished until 5:30 AM.

...And needing to be up by eight because that's the time the moving company is arranged to show to haul your stuff to the temporary apartment.

Now surfing with the bare bones mobile internet that came bundled with my phone plan. I was expecting a total flashback to ye olde modem times, but it's not *that* bad. Naturally, wasting time on Youtube is out the question, since it's just not fast enough for streaming even 240p resolution. Well, I could of course download each and every video I'm going to watch, but that would take ages.
I think this 4-6 weeks of less internet distractions could help my Uni productivity. :)

I caused a car crash today.
At least I think I did. I'm sure I did.
Hell, it may still have happened even if I hadn't crossed the road, but you never know.

I just saw a Scientology ad that was designed to make them look like UNICEF by promoting global change, unity and peace.

My eyes feel raped.

So my cousin's in the press, but not for great reasons. Have a read if you have a minute, even just for your own benefit as I would never wish it on my worst enemy- http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/real-life- ... se-5259467

What upsets me most of all is that my family are pretty spread out so we don't manage to see each other often. Being from the other side of the country; he had just got a job at the Emergency Department at the hospital...next to my house.

If you want to do anything to help put an end to this bullshit, you can chuck a few pennies this way- https://www.justgiving.com/mark-sims5/

Damn Violet, that's quite the story. Very sad. Have you visited him?

Lars: I read he landed it on a golf course after having engine trouble. At 72, that's still pretty badass. ;)

Yeah thanks, he's responding to treatment (which is relatively new and available on the NHS) which will buy him time and he isn't in any pain, which is good. Putting a positive spin on it, he has managed to raise a hell of a lot of money for Cancer Research UK from it; without them, he wouldn't be getting the treatment he's on now.

In the past 7 or 8 years I've noticed that band/music forums have been slowly dying. A lot of them have simply disappeared. Others have had their activity dwindle down over time (like hevydevyforums). My best guess is that this process has correlated with the rising popularity of the social media sites. Many communities have simply moved or have been replaced by Facebook groups. It is simply 'easier' for most people to use a single site like facebook to discuss their various interests.

It makes sense from a pragmatic standpoint, but it is unfortunate as well in some ways. Something is lost with forums that social media sites can't completely replace. It's just one of those things. I do not have a solution. I am only lamenting a change that could not be stopped.
