Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

I've had an iPod Classic for almost a month now, and I've been liking it quite a lot so far. But there's a few things I don't get...
1) While it's a good feature to have the music pause when removing headphones, whose idea was it to have the player start up when plugging in headphones?
2) "Now playing" screen shows album art from a slight angle, causing album art to look blurry and shitty. Only when browsing albums w/ cover flow are they displayed squarely, without fancy angle effects.
3) No on-player playlist creation. Seriously, you can enter a pin code for locking the player, why you can't have a playlist naming feature that works the same way?
4) No "add to now playing." Missing this one a lot. iPod's got just the "on-the-go playlists." I wonder if you can add stuff to one you're just playing...
:?

I know, serious first world problems.

1) Haha, that's odd. I've never noticed that before. But it doesn't start playing, does it? Mine only switches on. If I don't do anything with it, it will switch itself off again.
2) Yeah. That sucks.
3) & 4) If you hold the middle button, the selected song gets added to the "on the go" playlist. I know that's not quite the same as creating and naming a playlisist, but there might be some other hold-features that I haven't discovered yet.
I hope that's any help :P

Yeah, mine's the same. Switches on when pluggin in phones and doesn't start to play. Should have said it more clearly.
Funny, even though the 10-15 minutes of idle standy before the automatic shutdown really has a negligible effect on the battery charge, I've still shut it down manually. Just feels kind of weird after almost a decade of using MP3 players where the only thing happening going on when plugging the headphones in or out was whether or not there was sound coming from the phones.

Hmm, gotta do some experimenting with the on-the-go playlists. At least the instruction manual seems to be geared to encourage that.

Good luck on the job! :)

I know I'm late finding this album, but I absolutely love the omega experiment. I know it was started by a guy from these forums, so I just wated to know if he's still on here or not. I just wanted to thank him for making such a good record. Especially stimulus. That song is great! I love the guitar arpeggios at 4:50 and I love the vocal melodies at 2:49 and 3:47. So yeah, that's my two cents for now. :)

Thanks everyone!

In answer to this question, I obviously don't speak for Dan but following the Omega Experiment facebook page might be a good way to keep up with the goings on of OE.

Still here, just incredibly busy with school and music. We were picked up by Listenable Records last fall and they re-released the album this winter, so press and trying to get things sorted to get out live again has been taxing, but rewarding. Also been busy writing for our second album. I used to have so much time to piss around on here for hours, but not so much anymore. I miss everyone though. Thanks for listening. <3

^ I saw the album as a new release on Itunes the other day, glad to see it's picking up steam. I like seeing good, positive and inspiring music find an audience that appreciates it. Good job, Alabama Dan!

And now for something completely different.

Was at my girlfriend's house earlier, watching the news and having dinner, when the subject of the White House Correspondents' Dinner came up, highlighting jokes by Conan O'Brien and Obama. During the report, my girlfriend's mother suddenly said to me, "Why are making those horrid noises?"
"What? My laughter?"
"That's your LAUGH?"
"Uh... yeah."
They're accustomed to me having a less audible laugh (when I'm mildly amused), or doing a Peter Griffin laugh, which I sometimes do when I'm joking around. Turns out my "normal" laugh sounds like an evil clown to her.

While we're here, some of Conan's jokes:
