Feeling kinda down... not sure why. Can't tell if I'm sad or depressed or stressed or what. Just not happy at this very second. Hopefully it'll pass..

I spy a connection to this. No one has ever benefitted from Xbox Live. Ever. If someone says they did they're lying.

I'm going to work on my day off to drop off something I forgot to bring yesterday.

I'm sure it will be the highlight of my day.

Came back here with fresh thoughts, had a little tour and totally understand why good people are leaving. '>_>

I've been here longer than you two (had a different username back in the day) and this thing has happened before. Threads like "what's pleasuring your ears" don't do good for the sense of community. :?

Your music taste is destroying the intrenets keeker!!! :D

Nah, what I mean is that those threads always seem to turn into just listing things. Not too conversationy.

And your solution to this is.....?

I mean, if people want to post the music they like they can go for it. No one else is obliged to comment back on that stuff, so I don't how you'd make it "more conversational?"

I don't know. I wouldn't do anything I guess. But you can't deny I'm right. We've had the same 10 ever-so-bland threads dominating General Discussions front page for years. Go 50 pages back and see how diverse it all is. I miss that.

Even those posts though don't have more pages of posts than most of the threads that die now in the general discussion. Gauging their quite relative "interest factor" or not is kind of immaterial.

Alls I'm sayin' is no one makes anyone post here, and that's why I don't comprehend the complaints about the "state of the forum" that pop up occasionally. If it's a place someone doesn't want to be then I don't understand why they are, ya know?

Maybe they miss things too. :? Judging by your username you weren't too happy when SYL called it quits weren't you? This place isn't reddit. We are not learning new things everyday or scrolling funny pics with no end in sight. We are a small community and the charm of small communities are the people. You can't just jump into another forum and immediately feel "home". Look at us. We have almost 2000 posts between us two.

I don't see much of a problem. There's always times where there's not too much new stuff to discuss and what good does it to just open discussions just for the sake of discussing something? If you got an interesting topic then go ahead and open a thread for it.....buuuuuut if you don't then I don't really see the need for a complaint.

Facebook and twitter make it hard for any message board to compete because that's where everyone is now. And everyone wants you to be there because there is no life without facebook and blab blab blab. Personally I prefer message boards but I'm one of a few.

It's kind of like a group of friends or colleagues in a room.. sometimes there's a lot to say and sometimes folk just feel quieter. Conversation ebbs and flows.
