The most authentic thing about us is our capacity to create, to overcome, to endure, to transform, to love and to be greater than our suffering. (Ben Okri)
From a TV show in the late 80's here called "The Big Gig". These guys were a kinda anarchic musical comedy act. Lots of silly slapstick tinged with perverse takes on philosophy. Then one night, they stopped and played this...and everyone was floored. I know. I was there.
All of his stuff is brilliant. His first two albums are well worth getting, Boardface in particular has some fantastic tracks on it with these gorgeous female vocals. The diversity in style he has is just fantastic, I think. One of the best musicians I've ever heard.. and I couldn't believe it was just a side-project from his regular band. I hope he just does Gotye from now on... And that the hype around him doesn't make him go all shit.
