When I analyse this answer, I think it's because of how powerful the feelings these albums gave me are. So much balls and guts to them. That is for the classic albums.

I love equally the 4 parts of the DTP, but they're a bit apart for me. Better in a way but without some element that I can't really name that was their before. They're more controlled, less rough and have lost a bit in a way, but their overall quality and variety is better in my opinion. Too damn solid :D

But as usual with Dev music, this could have change in six month because my mind set up will be different. So that's an answer for today Thursday the 5th of April

I heartily endorse all of this.

You. This is your "Top 3 Devin albums" thread, no? Not the "Dev albums that I think are crap" thread. Stick to your own rules.

Listen to Deconstruction regardless of mood? Woah.

Also, I've been thinking a bit on this one. Even though Juular is my #1 listened song, Deconstruction isn't near being one of my favourites. I often use Juular just to get a quick boost of energy.
I think that Infinity, Accelerated Evolution and Alien are my top 3.
I'd love to put Addicted in there with them, but hey, I had to make a choice ;).

City
Biomech
Infinity

Picking three's a bitch...but this trilogy just came along at the right time in my life. So it's probably just as much, if not more, of an emotional pick as it is a judgement of the music.

For me it's gotta be (in order of favouritism):

Deconstruction

Because it's musically complicated and conceptually amazing. From a musicians standpoint it's nothing short of a masterpiece of every front.

Ocean Machine

Because of the size of it's production and emotional standpoints.

Accelerated Evolution

Because it's an excellent all-round day-by-day listen, and my all time favorite song; deadhead is on it.

I never really got Terria really.
And I don't get why a lot of person list it as Dev's #1 and all.
The production is fucking awesome, I gotta give credit where it's due but the songs don't really get me as much as the ones on OM or City or Ghost would.
I really love Deep Peace, Nobody's Here aaaaand... Well I like all the songs but these are really the only ones that give me the boner.
As the man said it I think Terria is ''beautiful the way it's meant to be. Beautiful but it don't do shit for me''

I know this off topic but I just don't get it.
To me, it's a cool album but yeah.
BACK TO THE THREAD !!!

I suppose I differ from the majority in that I don't quite get why so many rate Ocean Machine so high, and so few mention Synchestra as a favourite. I just really really really love Synchestra.
Oh... and Accelerated Evolution. Omnomnomnom.

(Now don't get me wrong... I love Ocean Machine to bits!)

Ocean Machine - Yeah. Just yeah.
Ghost - So relaxing, can listen to this whenever I want some feel-good.
Ki - The best moody music ever, pretty unique and special in his discography.

No, but you're wrong.

He just hasn't found his way through the Ocean Machine, yet.

When it is time, he'll see what we mean.

This is late, but...

I see what you did there.

Ocean Machine - Still sounds amazing as it did 15 years ago.
Deconstruction - A true masterpiece. Took several listens to truly take it all in and I still listen to it on a constant basis.
City - The first Dev album that got me listening (after the Vai Sex & Religon album).

Terria and Synchestra are not far behind the top three (apart from Ocean Machine).

Ghost, Infinity, then maybe Synchestra or the Hummer.
I used to love the shit out of Alien, but I worked through some issues and it seems less important to me now... still a killer album. :D
