Take your pick from any of the following:
Namaste
Mental Tan/Gaia
Any of the last three songs off Deconstruction
Resolve!
Trainfire
Depth Charge
Any of Earth Day/Deep Peace/Canada
Christeen
Bad Devil
Om
Zen
Critic

Oh my, this list could go on forever. And give them all a fucking orchestration!

For me I think the show stopper would be for the following, final song in the set before the encore:

Imagine a full set with the orchestra, jugglers, fire breathers and all of that crazy shit that's promised, and then for one final song everything goes dark. One spotlight on Dev, and just him singing The Death of Music.

Anything else is gravy and awesome, and I certainly expect you ladies to swing dance with me to Bad Devil.

some really good mentionings here.

well if he played The Death of Music AND some Strapping stuff, garnished with some random or even never played Terria tracks like Mountain, that all would be a definite reason to convince some people around me visiting London  .. otherwise I'd go on my own although I would have to learn for my exams at that time, but what else could be worth it?

I think that Death of Music idea sounds downright bitchin'. I love that song. As far as setlists go, I guess it'd depend on whether it's thematic or not. If it's like an exciting circus thing then there's no room for something like Things Beyond Things I guess. But you can really work with something like Juular, 'cause you can make a character out of it and make it run around and stuff. I think that would be really interesting, like giving a human flaw a cartoony form and have it run around on a stage with Deconstruction blurting out the speakers.

I would fly across the globe to see devy in a clown car drifting in front of a cardboard hill while singing Night.

wow i'm so glad so many of you are agreeing with "the death of music." i've been wishing for YEARS for him to do this crazy full band version live. like start out all quiet just himself (like octillus described) and then slowly building and building adding the full band. It should be after the encore break and then end the show with something so energetic like Life or Slow me Down.

Wild Colonial boy would definetely be one of my only other requests. can't go wrong with the songs he's been playing live but would be nice to hear mostly different stuff. if i knew the above were to happen, i'd fly to Europe just for this show.

and i'm only gonna say this once: please please please stop requesting SYL songs. for the past 4 years it was considered offensive; now it should be borderline grounds for being banned from the forums. flame me all you want, but it's gotten to the point where it's pissing me off.

I honestly don't think it shouldn't be considered offensive anymore (at least to some extent) since Dev himself mentioned some weeks ago via formspring that it's not impossible he'd do some tracks like Monument or Possessions some time live in the future.

at least as far as I understood. but there are certainly enough other nerds here to confirm/rule out ;)

Banning people for suggesting SYL songs seems kinda ridiculous. I'd love Spirituality, though that seems one of the least likely he'd ever play.
Anywho, as with most other people in this thread I must say The Death of Music. That would simply be immense. I'd also love Voices in the Fan, Funeral and Bastard... Hell, why not all of Ocean Machine?

I'm only ever annoyed when people ask if SYL is getting back together. It's not even a punishable offense, and reflects only how bored I am of the explanations. I guess I'd just argue that with the Strapping stuff, it'll only happen if Dev feels like it in that specific moment, whereas requesting solo career stuff seems like a valid idea.

Make sense?

Truth is, i've always pictured it with Dev alone under the spotlight too when I listen to the song. This song just deserves this kind of special treatment !

I think they should play me a mix of never played before songs or rarely played, some classics, and the ones that would sound the best with orchestra.

Personnal wishlist :

Life (for the sake of having 3000's dedicated fans singing at the same time a classic dev song, havings chills already)
Christeen
Stand
Planet of the Apes
Storm
The death of music
Namaste or Kingdom
Almost again
Truth (great orchestral potential IMHO)
Canada (same)
Triumph
The Greys
Trainfire
Hyperdrive
Feather

But anything will rock I guess, just hoping for the death of music :guitar:
