Naked sleeps are good. Though it's 3 for me, but my show is local.
Finished A Clash of Kings yesterday, which is pretty incredible seeing as how busy I am. But I neglected homework and wiped it out, well ahead of my goal to finish it by the time the show premieres. So today of course all I've been in doing is reading A Storm of Swords
and eating massive amounts of amazing food at a Brazilian restaurant in town, but that's beside the point.

Do you think Dev will have another secret acoustic show? That would be nice.
I woke up at 5:30 on the livingroom floor infront of a BBC Three standby screen next to an empty bottle of wine. I think last night was a success but now I feel like DEEEATH. To make matters worse, my mum phoned me at 8am and I just wanted to DIE. Then my neighbour phoned while suffering the same impairment as myself, as her baby has been sitting on her bed the past few hours poking her screaming "HAALLLLOOOOOOOW!", so she passed the phone over and I recieved a piercing squeal of that very nature. I'm hanging so much right now, I can't even be bothered to make a bacon sandwich. It's gonna have to be Crystal Maze and squash.

Apparently Cathedral and Paradise Lost are playing together on the same night as Dev and Meshuggah. Now that might be one to split you in two. Glad I made my choice.
Sydney, get ready.
'Cos here it comes.

So sadly, my beloved computer is on its last legs. It keeps having little things fail, so I want to replace it before the whole thing goes. I've got a ton of mileage out of it though, nearly 4 years in fact. So my question to you, oh forumites, is what new computer would you suggest for me?
I've been looking around a bit and right now have my eyes on $950 Lenovo that is everything I want save inferior screen resolution. Then there's an $1100 Asus that I'm looking at that's a beast, only downside is it's freaking huge. I currently have an Asus and I've loved it. Then I'm looking at MacBook, mainly just because I want Final Cut. But I'm having a hard time justifying paying so much for a computer that is inferior in basically every way to the PCs I'm looking at. All I can afford is the cheapest, 13'' model, and I really don't want such a small laptop.
So... Suggestions? Basically my main need is normal day to day word processing and shit and most of all video/audio editing. As for gaming I've found it's less important as I rarely game on my computer anymore.

Refurbishes, tbh. If you wait for the next refresh on the MacBook, you can get a Refurb from two iterations back (which at oldest would be from 2010) you have a nice masheen for your ProTools and FCP needs.
I'm working off of a 2008 model and it's fine.
I'm not entirely a Mac-only kind of a cat, but now that FCPX doesn't completely blow, it's really the only sane way to go.

Yeah I just may do that. Lots o' decisions to make.
On another note, screw the stupid assholes who keep throwing beer bottles at the church I work at. First of all, who throws beer bottles at a church, and second, and more importantly, I have to effing clean it up. Damn them...

It depends what sort of price you're willing to pay. If you intend on having your next computer for quite some time like your last one, I'd say look into a Mac refurb for sure, so you can use Final Cut etc and be able to use your computer for everything you want, instead of getting a PC and still be wishing you could do things with it that you can't. That being said, refurbs can still be pricey (as Macs are in general). If it doesn't bother you too much, for the price of the two you were looking at, you could definitely get a Windows-based machine capable of doing everything you'd like it to, probably quite a nice one actually, depending on how sharp your shopping around/haggling skills are.
