Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

Dunno if its a good or a bad thing that I'm pretty much doing this group-based uni work on my own. It'd be nice not to be working all day and night, but I also like being in control of my grades...

Oh yes...I remember the group projects...that I did on my own.

I was once paired up with a Japanese girl for our stop motion unit, I asked her what she wanted to do and she told me she didn't know, so I came up with an idea and just before we started the puppet making, she bailed on me because she wanted to do her own plot (which I would have been fine with in the first place >:C ), so I'm up for like a week without sleep building my puppet and set and animating it all frame by frame (24fps times 30 seconds....that's a lot of frames). Come evaluation, the Japanese girl's puppet looked good, but the plot didn't really make sense and the framerate was like, 4fps so she got a low mark...Vi Pie's puppet was a pile of wank, but the plot made the tutor laugh and it was 24fps like asked...so I got a good mark :B Derp Japanese girl, I last heard she's doing another degree in politics now; so the wonderful world of Technical Arts had no room for her anyway...

You know she committed seppuku after that mark, right? Politics, seppuku...it's all the same.

It's fun when you're sitting on the train home near a teenage metalhead with their headphones on way too loud and they give you odd looks when they notice you're instinctively tapping your pen to God Hates Us All whilst concentrating on a crossword puzzle. Even funnier when the clue at the time is Affirms.

Deeply excellent moment.

I have so much baking to do over the next two days.

- A giant, gluten free Oreo the size of a dinner plate

- A mudcake

- Rainbow cupcakes

- Dinosaur cutout cookies

Am I the best more-than-friend-but-not-quite-girlfriend 21st birthday helper outterer ever?

I think so.

I think so, too. That's quite the list you've got there. Good luck on it!
Pictures when they're all done? :)

Please disregard if you two are at where you want to be, but any dude who wants to keep a girl who'd bake all of that at arm's distance is probably blind/stupid.

That's the kinda thing I'd do for whoever I'm seeing, so I think so.

I've been coming here too long. This is just something I saw at work and couldn't stop laughing for 5 minutes.

Tehehehe... cock.

On another note, I really beat myself sometimes; I guess you could call it an inferiority complex or something. Mainly right now, it's directed at my work as a photographer/videographer. I keep feeling as though I have zero talent, that all my work is derivative, and that coming on 4 years of college has done nothing to help with any of that. I know it's probably based on nothing, but I just feel that way sometimes. I'm trying to get more involved with things and get myself out there, but even then I just find myself having little faith in my work. I dunno... just on my mind.

And there's me a bitchin. Ignore the man behind the comment box :D

Don't be down on yourself, brah. Most people go through that. Just do what you love that's really all that matters and you can do. You got this, man.

By the way, if it makes you feel any better, I'd be more likely to check your work out before I check out the work of most others, as I'm sure a lot of people would from here. I'm not trying to speak for anyone else, but in my eyes, the fourmites have your back.

I think I know why I'm having difficulty figuring out and remembering things in my new job. It's not just that I have a myriad of systems to work with after 3 years of using basically one system. It's that now I'm being paid to be nice and helpful to people whereas previously I was meant to be more austere (the difference between debt collection and customer service, I suppose). You add that shift in mentality to the shift in systems, and of course your thoughts are going to be jumbled, you'll be confused, maybe forgetful about something which is so obvious when you remember it, and you run around like a chicken with your head cut off when trying to resolve a difficult problem that you are not sure about.

Others that came over from my previous department are having similar problems, so I'm a bit comforted I'm not the only one who feels puzzled every five minutes. Of course, having a self-doubting mindset doesn't help much.
