Anyone got any experience with fretless guitars?
I ripped the frets out of an old beat up telecaster to see what I thought of playing fretless. I love it. Got a couple of custom multiscale 8 string les paul shaped guitars on order from Crimson Guitars which are due in april. I still want to covet the fretboard and replace the pickups on the tele so I have a fretless 6 string. Strangely enough I've found fretless guitar to be the only time I've got along with open tunings.
Back to the point. Anyone tried converting a fretted guitar to a fretless. Think I'm gonna cover the fretboard with some kind of epoxy/glue and sand it down to a smooth finish as the strings are already marking the wood.
