Hey guys,

I was browsing around the Peavey site, and look what I just found:

Yep, it's finally here, and rings in at a staggering $2059.9 USD. Ouch!

I've been waiting forever for this to come out, as I've been craving both a baritone and a 7-string, but right now, I'm out of work, so it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Well, I did have a bunch of money from selling all my camera gear, but I didn't actually think they were ever going to put this out, and I bought a bunch of other guitars with the money. Bugger!

Here's the specs:

24 jumbo frets
- 28" scale
- 14 degree headstock pitch
- Striking 2 tone gun metal gray/black finish
- Rock Maple Neck Through Body construction
- Mahogany body wings w/ maple cap
- Ebony fretboard
- Phosphorescent side markers
- EMG 81-7 Bridge Pickup
- EMG SA-7 Single Coil Neck Pickup
- Single Volume Control with pearl inlay
- 3 way pickup selector toggle
- Special Devin Townsend 12th fret logo
- Custom designed locking machine heads
- Heavy duty fixed bridge-string through body
- Black TUSQ topnut
- Graphite re-inforced neck
- Dual action torsion rod
- Specially designed Coffin Case® included
- Unpacked weight: 9.5 lbs.
- Weight Unpacked: 9.50 lb(4.309 kg)
- Weight Packed: 28.50 lb(12.927 kg)

OK, I am totally confused. I linked someone else to this and they are telling me that it says $1399...

Maybe their site is detecting that I am in Canada, and therefore trying to screw me over... I definitely see $2059.99 though. Bizarre!

UPDATE: I changed my location to USA, and now am seeing the $1399 price. What a stupid website, and what an insane currency conversion. Luckily, dealers up here don't actually charge that much!

It isn't currency conversion, really. $2059.99 is the MSRP, while the $1399 is what it is expected to be sold for. Canadian MSRP is probably the same, but they just don't have an expected sale price listed.

You're probably correct. Sorry I started a new thread. . I'll move the conversation over to the other thread. Feel free to deleted this one. Ta!

For what it's worth, over here in the UK I got a quote for getting one of these bad boys on Tuesday.

Instead of the £1279 stated on the Peavey site, Guitar Guitar quote me at £1099.99. Which is nice!

Like I said in the gear post, I'm ordering one of these once I've moved to my new place.

P.S. Does anyone know if the little metal "boots" that Devin has on his guitars will be available to buy at all?

If I'm spending over a grand on a DT guitar, I certainly wouldn't mind shelling out a bit more on protecting it's most delicate parts......

Here's the original thread link again: viewtopic.php?f=49&t=9186

Someone should probably merge them or something, but most of the info being discussed here is already there.

The boots for the tips were custom made for Dev by this guy: Corey Davis Metalworks (turtlebaby@shaw.ca) I think Dev said they cost around $200.

That's a lot of information to sift through for a newbie like myself and I personally don't have the time at the moment to read through 20 pages of old posts! Haha! (merging would be a bad idea imo).

Thanks for the info about the boots though!

Well, if you really cared about the guitar it would be worth the effort. And I thought only Americans were lazy.

Dunno about you but where I come from, literally not having the time to sift through 20 pages on a message board for one small piece of information does not equate to laziness. It simply equates to a lack of free time....

Bottom line is, I already have enough information about the guitar and I'm actually buying one regardless of whether I can get the boots.

I was just messing with ya. I saw you'd been a forum admin on another board, and I have been one on several, so I was just harassing you about the thing all forum admins harass people about: Not using the search function and starting a new thread when another existed.

It's not like I expected you to actually read through the whole thread. Just figured it was a better place to ask questions since it is a thread more people check out than this one.
