The place to speak about Dev's current projects, and everything yet to come

I really like how these albums link together, and then ultimately in a circle. And since it's about addiction, it makes it even more true. Once you've had an addiction to something, the memory of it will always remain. And while I believe, and Devin has also said in an interview, that it is ultimately your choice to return to those addictions, the memory stays. The choice will always somehow present itself again, and opposing forces will always try to get you to return to your past, no matter how many times you say no to it.

Ghost is really an amazing ending to this Project. Or rather, it's also an amazing rebirth.

Not QUITE exactly identical, but I get what you're saying. Played 'em both, same fingerings on the fretboard, but not quite the same frets.

True. Several people have also claimed that the "worlds away" bit in Planet of the Apes is identical to A Monday, but I think it's more like As You Were. Begins with (3 3 0 0 x x) instead of A Monday's (2 2 0 0 0 x). Although I'm reciting this from memory, so of course I fully reserve the right to be wrong.

Also forgive my crude tab indicators. I'm far too lazy to do proper ASCII tabs. :D

I agree. The vocal melody in that part from POTA is similar to As You Were, but not A Monday.

I'm just curious to what everyone else thinks of the VERY end of Addiction. Not when he says, "Now deconstruct!" because that obviously is a link into the next, but what about in that airy section afterward before the fadeout?
"And we looked up to the stars last night
And I saw that maybe...there was nothing more?
...and my thought turned!"

What are everyone's thoughts on those words? I love the song no matter what and don't essentially care if I ever know what Devin always was thinking when he says certain things, but sometimes I think it's fun to ponder on it.

Yeah, he's found peace at the end of Addicted but he feels he needs to explore the 'heavy' side on Decon. Hence Praise the Lowered taking a while to get going.

Yeah, that's a good point. Addicted is all about staying away and finding peace from the addictions, and then there's the opposite: what it must feel like to be right in the middle of all the bunk. Deconstruction's lyrics blow me away, just because there are so many different subjects going on all at once.
