The place to speak about Dev's current projects, and everything yet to come

I think delays are just the name of the game for a signature guitar's first outing. The same things has happened with a few other sigs that I have gotten in the past. I'm going with the assumption that Peavey will give a nice full announcement June 20th to line up with Deconstruction's release with updated information and enough stock built up to start shipping on the day and as long as there isn't any manufacturing problems Peavey shouldn't have any problems meeting demand. It's what I'm hoping for anyway as I sit on my front porch waiting for a 3.5 foot long package to arrive. :P

Speaking of Peavy USA, I actually emailed them the other day and asked when they were going to be releasing the guitar. I got the answer of:

"Thank you for your inquiry with Peavey Electronics. The Devin Townsend Signature guitar should be available to ship to dealers later this summer."

So, nothing concrete but it fits with what we've been hearing.

On to the delays thing, I can hear where you are coming from frustration-wise but on the other hand... it's a freakin' miracle this thing is even BEING made. Hell, I'm skeptical until the moment I hold one of these bad boys. I'm also painfully aware that a product like this will NOT have an very long shelf life so it's going to be get while the getting's good.

Usually signature guitars that have this level of collaboration between the artist and the guitar company are reserved for platinum status kind of bands. I'm not in anyway suggesting that is justified but, it's the truth. For Peavey to work with Devin on this is pretty amazing and shows me a lot about the kind of company Peavey is.

I know I like all of that but I haven't found a site that offers anything yet. Beside Sweetwater, and I don't have the cash right now :(

As far as the money issue goes, Sweetwater, and others I'm sure) offer an Easy 3 payment plan which is nice in that it divides your order into 3 equal amounts. It adds $10 service fee to the first month, then you have the second payment the second month (obviously), no payment on the 3rd month, and your last payment on the 4th month. I did this with the dtp sig guitar order and I will more than likely use it when I order my custom Dual Rec. There's more hoops to jump through when ordering using the 3 easy payment plan, like a credit check and such, but it's easier than having the big lump sum right out of the gate.

I've now been having to debate on whether or not to switch the EMG out for a Bareknuckle Aftermath pickup. Really wanting to try that pickup out. I guess I will wait and see how the EMG sounds with the amp when I get it and put a bareknuckle in a guitar to see the difference between the 2. :)

I hear ya. What really sucks is that credit scores are also sexually biased like car insurance. :furious:

 Yep. By the way was there a "Limited" time for this to be produced once they are being run on the puduction line?

I asked that same question when I was making the order I believe and the guy at Sweetwater said there wasn't any info on the length of the run and the best thing to do to ensure that I was able to get was to go ahead with the order. Since I haven't seen Peavey put out anything on the run being limited I would guess they are waiting to see how the guitar sells. I'm curious how many pre-orders they've received so far.

I thought I saw in the orginal Peavey website with the Dev sig and the other two V's that the Dev sig was said to be a Limited run though... I hope it is not limited and will be out for a while.

I forgot about that. I think Peavey did have limited in the wording of the announcement on the sig, but Peavey removed all mention of the guitar from their website. :( But do to the price of the guitar I don't think you'll have to worry about not having a chance at one since if it was a limited run, like between 100 to 1,000, the price of the guitar would be a lot higher I'd imagine.

lol Don't tell her?? But yeah Drum City Guitar Land has them usually. http://www.drumcityguitarland.com/drumcitygl/stores/1/8-String-Electric-Guitars-C456.aspx the first two are limited runs they have a Les Pualish 8 string and a Avenger 8 string that were both limited runs as well. they have a few 7 strings and some 6 strings also. Plus DCGL has alot of Prototypes from scheter as well lol

http://www.drumcityguitarland.com/drumcitygl/stores/1/Schecter-PROTOTYPES-C266.aspx

Those are more like diferent colors then the production models or some that are fixed bridge when they usually come with Floyds or with Floyds that usually come with Fixed bridges lol

Though, I am still hoping this Devin Sig is NOT limited and will be out for a while.
