Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

^ Supposedly Spencer has been working on vocals for Unleash The Pwnies. This is extremely good news.

I've been on a major Tesseract kick lately. Along with Born of Osiris. Their new album(despite my personal gripes with the production) is excellent.

LOL. A gem. An unpolished gem, but a gem nonetheless.

Am enjoying Overture "Essence" by Simius.

Don't tell Swerve I said this but it is fucking excellent. Surprisingly arena-friendly as well. And I mean that in the best way - HUGE hooks, anthemic melodies, really good songs not just riffs. Despite occasional use of Grandpa's guitars... :x Really impressed. Don't let that Rupert Bear scarf fool you.

Yep, really is impressive. Weird to hear all the tracks polished up and finally done but I'm genuinely chuffed for Swerve and the lads, they deserve some serious praise for this. :)

It's weird, I keep thinking of Pearl Jam as i listen to it - not that it sounds like them per se, but it has that sense of 'MTV Bigness'. (that's MTV in my generation's terms, when they used to play music videos)
Not enough guitar solos though - the one in Friendly Fire is great but shoould be about 8 times longer.

Rawk all over the place.
There's certainly a fair dollop of Pearl Jam in it but as a whole there's influence from everywhere. Laurens' vocals are perfect on this, and you'll hear they're all spot on if you get to see them.
I hear a bit of Tool in Essence n'all, and if it's moar guitar/solo's you want, get Pim to send you the .mp3 of 'Voyage' (Devolution).
