My little brother's friend, Willow Jones. Very talented girl, she's got a lot ahead of her.

Rev. Kriss Hades, with Agonhymn and Heirs as support. Agonhymn were pretty cool, just a duo on drums and guitars, but had a really strong sound. Heirs I've never heard of before tonight, but they were great too, a really spacey metal, and great use of a theremin.
Rev. Kriss Hades was fucking awesome though. Great performance by all the band members, great sound as well; the highlight for me though would be the trashing of the lead guitar at the climax of the show. The guitar player pulled out a huge knife and started hacking at the instrument, whittling it towards the crowd, before finally slashing and stabbing the thing to death. He then took another guitar and used it to smash the fuck out of the already wrecked one, then took a machete and hacked at both of the guitars' remains. Two guitar smashings, and the rest of the band played through to the end. METAL!

TOOL. I love TOOL and I know that is incredibly lame to admit, but I completely lack the shame gene. They performed quite well, decent show; I was entertained. TOOL fans are the worst people in the Universe. I was so enraged by the end of the show, I was sure I was having a stroke. The girl sitting next to me was great. She was pretty (she had nice boobs), she was friendly (she was drunk), and she KNEW ALL THE SONGS. Seeing as the majority of the songs played were singles, I feel it was more than fair to expect people to know all the songs. The gaggle of bitches in front of me and their two male babysitters did not know the majority of the songs, nor were they able to dance/clap/move/sing to what was actually being played. TOOL is a very mainstream band, so it doesn't surprise me that they have fans from every subculture that exists, but I couldn't deal with the amount of frat boys/drunk whores that were there. And that is completely ignoring the typical TOOL fan who I also want to stab in the eyes. :chain: I will never see them again.

Haha :D Tool is one of the (not so many) bands I like but haven't seen yet.

Last band I saw live was Kiljuvelka-70, about an hour ago. It was pretty lame, and they only played for about 20 minutes...

Jeremiah Cymerman, Tartar Lamb 2 and Kayo Dot in a little club in Vienna.

To be honest, I wouldn't buy or listen to anything the first two have done. But live it's ... let's call it interesting.

Kayo Dot were great, they created a great atmosphere with some very brutal interruptions. Unfortunately the nice violinist wasn't there but nevertheless they had a great line up. Great great drumming, nice bass guitar... and to be honest, if a band plays trumpets and saxophons, i'm not able to say that they are bad.

I saw Alter Bridge a month ago in Spokane (Myles' hometown) with Like A Storm and Taddy Porter. All 3 bands were great, and Taddy is a new favorite of mine. They did a cover of The Beatles' I Want You (She's So Heavy) that was just awesome possum. :)

Iggy Pop- Whoa, these guys are something else. Not really into them, but Iggy has energy.

Tool- Not too into them either, but it was surreal being able to walk up to the front of the stage and not make contact with anyone else. No one was there.

Iron Maiden. Was freakin' awesome, as I knew it would be. Unfortunately the arena they chose is known to have shitty speakers that either mash up sounds or don't distribute evenly, as was the case here. I tried to not let it ruin the moment though. The guys had loads of energy, a great set (and set pieces), and the robo-alien-Eddie looked sweet. Some people were grumbling that they didn't play Aces High or Run to the Hills - I didn't mind as they've played those songs a million times already, and they're trying to promote their new album; I was only disappointed they didn't play Starblind, I was looking forward to singing along with that one. Otherwise, great set, great night.
Their support act, Rise To Remain, was less eventful. I only know that Bruce Dickinson's son is their vocalist; clean vocal-wise he was pretty good, and there were some good guitar solos in there as well. Take away those two elements however, and you get an otherwise average metalcore band. They'll have their fans, though.
