It's Maiden here too - giving the first spin of The Final Frontier. As with the last few Maiden albums I'll reserve any judgment till I've heard it a few times. AMOLAD took a little while to grow, but once it did...

Fantastically melodic ambient-djent on the highest possible level of win. No, really, go check it, djenty riffs are only ornament for all the atmospheric things.

Funny thing - found it on metalsucks yesterday, then after a checking the myspace I realized I may know this dude from somewhere - and yup, he plays in Disperse, which I've seen about one and half year ago playing for, like, seven people in Warsaw. He (together with his mates from Disperse) is pretty young dude by the way, in his teens I think.

Another prop for the new Maiden disk. BNW was great--DOD and AMOLAD were sketchy for me, but this new one seems like it's a return to form. Digging it so far.

This album IS melodic death metal.

Great album. I am partial to Necroticism though....dunno why. Maybe it was my most impressionable age.

I think when they started getting better at their instruments they should've changed their name or something. FAR FAR cry from Reek of Putrifaction lol.
