I know what's NOT PLEASURING MY EARS - KMBT RADIO.

FUCK!!!!!!!! it's gone. I'd just donated $20, guess not enough other people did. FUCKIN FUCK FUCK, Scott Kelly's playlist of shows was awesome, glad I got to hear most just before it disappeared. Deserved to kept on the net just like homage/vault to GOOD innovative music.

I'm sure this will bring on the hate, but: I think that album is by far Devin's best vocal performance.

You can hear the raw talent, it's a lot less polished compared to what his voice is like now. I still prefer the current opera Devin though. And angry angsty wall of sound Devin.

Maybe that is why. His voice was younger too...I dunno, just that TONE. The raw tone. Unmistakable. And the delivery was insane...the SOUL. haha sounds lame but oh so true....

I've gotta say I thought the same thing the first time I heard S&R. Incredible performance, even though I don't much care for the album overall. I can't really pick a favorite vocal period for Devin, though. I like them all for different reasons--it's an album-by-album thing, I guess.

Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden

Bruce is clearly by far the better singer than Di'Anno and the production is very rough but there is something about this album I still love dearly.
In fact I can still remember the moment I got my first copy of it - traded on a TDK SA90 cassette with Ed Morley's sister behind the the school chapel. It Had 2112 by Rush on the other side of the tape.

I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist.

NP: Phil Collins - No Jacket Required - Sussudio

A great, great song, a personal favorite.

I'm definitely not eating any of your home-made pineapple chocolates.

SA90's were the shit!! Much more quality than the average Memorex. I used to use them for my Tascam 8 track recorder as masters, not to mention my fave demos from local bands and whatever else.
