Word cannt describe my envy.

Seriously, only two people? What was going on there? Did he just show up and was like "Sup, I'mma play guitar", or was it a preorganised thing?

I had a tutorial this morning about my dissertation.

Out of the 40 minutes, 5 was spent on talking about that. Because I mentioned something along the lines of a symbiotic relationship between the audience and the artist (my thesis is on technical development of sfx, not some lame media studies bollocks), I brought up a certain Mr Manson as an example of a musical audience getting bored of the same thing (talk about washed up...) and my dissertation tutor, in his 50's with half moon specs on a chain and an INCREDIBLY well spoken manner started talking about Norwegian Death Metal, and the whole Varg thing, then we discussed our favourite Rammstein albums...and finally, he said "So, who is your favourite band?"

And I said

"DEVIN TOWNSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEND"

He wrote it down and will let me know what he thinks 8)

This could be posted in both the awesome and un-awesome thread

Awesome: Got asked over youtube to tryout for a band that actually writes interesting music.

Un-Awesome: The band is in Iowa, and not signed/touring.

Eh, better just get started on hopefully finding a good drummer here.

Build something from the ground up. Yes, it will take longer and will be alot of stress...but the learning process and all the growing pains will help you in the future. I am going through some jealousy with a friend because his band is already movin' on up, faster than mine...but, he just nudged into a cozy situation. Too often in the past I gave up on my dreams and joined other people's causes. Unless you just want to take a backseat and be a follower. Sup to you.

Yea I definitely see your point. Everything I've been involved in up until now has been someone else's deal. This project's main songwriter so far is me. Luckily the people I'm working with now have flexibility musically and we don't have to stick to just one sound because we all like different music.

Isidore of Seville. He appears to be one of the greatest intellectuals that history has largely forgotten about...
