Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Listening to it now.

That's possibly one of the least epic and most poppy songs Opeth ever made.

Explain how it is poppy. There are no clean vocals in the song at all besides a few chant-like parts.

Quit flame-baiting.

I'm not flame baiting.

But if people who don't like Opeth, death metal or any metal per se, are going to like an Opeth track (minus the obvious ballads), it's Blackwater Park. The vocals aren't very aggressive even if they are harsh, the main riff is very simplistic and repeated very often even for Opeth's standards and the mellow bit in the middle is something anyone can drift away to. Hardly epic if you ask me.

Still good though.

I'd think they would be more into something like Porcelain Heart, because I would definitely consider that a highly "poppy" track with far too much repetition for them.

You have to admit the intro is epic.

It's the guy from Exodus isn't it? I don't mind him much in that band but it just doesn't fit with Tenet.

NP: Sigur Ros - I'm not even going to try to type that album title, I don't have those letters on my keyboard!

^ I wonder if you are thinking of their original singer Paul Baloff. Zetro was his replacement...an awful one at that. Then they got Paul back in the 90s, then he died...then I think they got Zetro back.

To be honest I've only heard Tempo of the Damned and Shovel Headed Kill Machine.

Pelican - Ephemeral

Their new album is pretty good. I read somewhere they may actually be getting a vocalist for their next album, definitely interested to find out how that goes.
