Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Blasphemy.

No. Loomis has better riffs, better ideas, and actually uses interesting scales/modes.

It's cool.

I'm starting to be anti-pitch-correction nazi, though. Every sign of vocals being altered with some autotune or melodyne gizmo sounds annoying as fuck. Moar natural vox plz.

Is that altered? Couldn't tell. Just sounded like a chick singing (and singing well) to me...

I don't think those vocals are gizmo-fied.
There's some sort of effect over them in the verses (you can clearly hear when Anneke takes a breath), but they don't sound auto-tuned.
Perhaps they are pitch-corrected, but then it'd probably be just to get the vocals perfectly in tune with the rest of the music. This is commonly a correction of a few Hz so in practice you wouldn't even be able to hear those minor alterations. Definitely no Attack Attack! -style autotune business that I've picked up,
except for maybe the EE-II-UU-AA thing leading into the first chorus.
But that's just cool. :P

Jesu - Opiate Sun - Losing Streak

Immediately has become one of my favourite Jesu tracks. In my opinion Opiate Sun is some of their strongest material since the Sundown/Sunrise EP in 07 (Not including Infinity, haven't listened to that yet). I'm certainly loving it...

Cynic's Focus. Have been worshipping Traced in Air for the last 6-8 months, and going to see them in Jan. So I bought the 1st album the other day and I just can't get into it. Have listened to it 10-12 times, and it's not doing it for me. It just sounds so primitive and unmelodic compared to TinA.
