Oh, Sleeper was pretty damn boring. Bunch of guys wearing girl pants and V neck shirts. Typical minor sweep picking over chuggy riffs. Boring.

Architects were fucking amazing though. By far the best band on the bill. The guys are very talented, write pretty crazy music that is sometimes reminiscent of Dillinger Escape Plan with more Meshuggah influence (from time to time). Definitely an awesome group, not too keen on the singer's clean vocals, though he can sing.

Bring Me The Horizon. I could go on, and on, and on about how horrible this band is. Boring, typical, generic, they all dont even work when describing this band. These guys are becoming the new mainstream of music today. Nothing but a bunch of 14 year old kids who think they are bad asses cause they listen to a band with "screaming" vocals. Their music lacks any sort of "feeling" and is just your typical riff, chant vocal section, breakdown, repeat. All the little girls in the place went APE SHIT when they went on stage too, and bailed as soon as they were done...probably because they have to go to middle school in the morning or some shit.

Didnt stay for Every Time I Die, but I'm pretty sure I've seen them before and they were alright I guess, if you're into that sort of thing.

Zoraster - (I think that's how they spelled it) was kinda cool...droney stoner rock with some chanting type vocals and such. Pretty cool and heavy got boring after a few songs though.

Burst - Very surprised with these guys. Never heard of them before but they really impressed me. Awesome musicianship and song writing. Very atmospheric with kind of an Opeth vibe to them.

Gojira - Absolutely amazing. Seeing them on a headlining show was a dream. The only thing I wish they would have played was "World To Come". Other than that they had a great set. Something along the lines of:

EDIT: Since I'm a show going to bastard now dude to lack of job, small review of Gojira(night 2), Lamb of God, and Metallica!

Gojira rocked, again. A condensed set from the night before. Oroborus, Heaviest, Lizard Skin, Toxic, Vacuity. Good set none the less, they sounded absolutely EPIC though. Just like their album, and I know they made some new fans at this show.

Lamb of God - Played too much new material. Still had the guts to play stuff like Ruin and Black Label though. Needless to say it was mostly new stuff with 1 song off their previous albums back to New American Gospel. Good stage presence and sound. Not as good as Gojira IMO.

Metallica. What can I say? It was my first time though. I loved it. A lot of new songs, nothing off of St Anger (which seemed to make a lot of people so happy), Load or Reload. Good set either way. They played "Through the Never" which was awesome, and if they video I got of it turned out well I'll post it on youtube. Thing that bugged me the most was that they didnt play much off their OLD stuff. Only one song from Kill'em All and Ride The Lightning. Not even Fade to Black!

Needless to say I was impressed. Awesome stage presence, pyro, light show, all that stuff. They definitely still have it after all these years.

Only thing that made me mad: James asked who hadnt seen Metallica live before, and then had the nerve to say "Well what took you so long?!" Even though it was a joke, it was in bad taste. The last time they had even come CLOSE to Florida was FIVE years ago. If they would stop only playing Europe and California, maybe a lot of the newcomers such as myself would have seen them sooner.

But the second and especially the third time I noticed that the show was exactly the same, except from a few changes in the setlist. Always fireworks with One, always the "you know what goes well with the new shit.. old shit" comment, always ending with Seek & Destroy. The attitudes and stage banter were all the same which is my main issue with them now. Their last show I saw in support of Death Magnetic didn't offer anything new to me, despite of the new songs they played. At one point I thought they were gonna do something out of the ordinary because they started playing Suicide & Redemption as an encore, but Lars fucked up after a minute and they stopped it entirely. I felt rather disappointed after the whole concert, so that was probably the last time I see them live.

But for a first time seeing them, yeah it's a great show.

I believe it. I guess they have been changing their set list by the show recently. I talked to a few people who have seen them multiple times on this tour (dont ask, I asked them how they could manage to do that and they gave me some odd excuses).

Slipknot last night. Fun show and sounded great! Criterium(?) opened for them. I'd never heard of them before.

Will Bozarth-Having a guy with an acoustic play some material while bands set up wasn't a bad idea. Problem was WIlhelm brought the "yeeah you will all hate me CAUSE I'M COMEDIC AT THE METAL SHOW" attitude but very little of the funny. A wildly offkey cover of Candlemass AND a wildly offkey cover of Death? Joke was old even without the shriekies.

Dreaded SIlence-Cool local band. Not realyl any one style of Metal. Just do that whole "sounding cool" thing.

Gwynbleid-These guys have a damn good buzz in the scene. They sound somewhat similar to Opeth but their structures are a bit less crap riff-collagey and it's not grating at all.

Tobesbonden-Holy crap! Talk about pipes! Laurie Ann Haus overpowered the poor, innocent P. A. It was hard to notice much else really. What a voice!

Shroud of Bereavement-These guys were light years ahead of where they were last time I saw them. Still solidly written doom-death Metal with some serious growly/clean male/female interplay. However, the new lineup is a lot tighter and the new female singer only grates when singing certain parts written for the previous soprano singer.
As a bonus, their merch guy was awesome. He had some damn funny stories about SYL/DTB and managed to complete them despite the fact he had to simultaneously inventory merch, field questions about it, and humor some fans who apparently had no friends and were glad to find somebody who couldn't suddenly run off into the mosh pit to avoid them.

Saw Opeth in Belfast on Monday night, my right ear is still shot.
