This has nothing to do with Steph....but I just wanted to tell ya I like your music. The guitar tone is wicked...it reminds me of that Low, delicious twang that Tosin Abasi gets on AAL.... :D

Haha thanks man! Means a lot. I havent recorded anything in a long time, but I've been thinking of re-doing "Black Hole" with my new tone, my 8 string, and Addictive Drums. Shouldnt take more than a few hours.

Oh and if you happen to be talking about the "Baritone Test" tone, that's because it was done on a Squire Baritone strat that I had to hard wire the jack to the bridge pickup. So it's damn trebly as hell! haha.

See the bold part? Everything after the "="? ONLY put that part in between the two "[ youtube ]"'s.

Quote this and you'll understand:

Vai is fucking brilliant. I'll fight anyone who thinks otherwise.

Also there's no reason to have more than three necks on a guitar. Ever. *Looks pointedly at Michael Angelo Batio*

There's no reason to have more than 2. And the only acceptable way of having a double neck guitar is so:

(especially the facial expressions)

Vai has a custom built three one for when he needs a fretless. John Paul Jones needed them to add a mandolin neck and strings. Also there's tons of acceptable ways to use a double-neck guitar, as demonstrated through-out rock history, from Zeppelin to GNR to Coheed And Cambria.

Like a lot of shred guitarists, he writes the occasional sick riff or beautiful melodics (Rain Forest), but ruins it with excessive arpeggio/sweeping/tremolo/whatever and... well, shredding. Also I met him, he lives around here. He's a really creepy guy.

People like Guthrie Govan and Mattias Eklundh can run circles around Vai and be more original in the process...on one neck.
