I just got a second hand marshall amp...it's the AVT100 Valvestate2000 one....thing...

Anyhoo....I played it in the shop for about an hour and it was fine...sounded fantastic!

Got it home...plugged it in....turned it on....waited about a minute for it to warm up...

Sounded great for a few seconds then......

The sound died.

I tried again...played for a few seconds....and the sound died again.

I don't know what's up with it...and it's pissing me off...

Any suggestions??

New valve?

sounds like a power problem. Try plugging into a different outlet? Check the fuse isn't on the fritz, and check power cable isn't nicked or frayed, contacts clean etc.

Not sure but something to try.

Also, make sure its the amp and not your guitar or instrument cables.

It was the amp. Power was working, sound was not.

PROBLEM SORTED NOW THOUGH!

I took it back to the shop...got another amp

that'll work too.... haha
