I was high this one time and got the brilliant idea to listen to Devin's work backwards. I'm not talking about listening for hidden messages or anything like that. I just decided to hear what it sounded like. What I found what that it's actually quite entertaining (under the influence of drugs or not...at least in my opinion). Sometimes it's hilarious. Sometimes it's surprising how good some parts sound backwards. But in general, it's fun (and a total waste of time if you have something better to do). Anyhow, backwards Devy songs could be discussed at greater length another time. What I'm really posting about is where this idea took me. Last spring, I did an arrangement of "Material" for my arranging class at Berklee. A couple nights ago, I was stoned, and decided the next step was to listen to my version of someone else's song backwards. So I stuck my version of Material in Audacity, reversed it...and for some reason decided it was worth sharing with the world...
And to make a long story short, this video is the result:

I figured other Devy fans might be able to appreciate it. I hope I wasn't wrong. Perhaps I'll upload the actual (not backwards) version of my arrangement one of these days, but the backwards version keeps growing on me...
