Public Enemy 2 nights in a row. they would have played 2 and a half hours each night and played the entire It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back. It was freaking amazing all the members were on fire and didnt let up on the energy. they wore the crowd out like crazy. amazing night. i cant wait to see them again.

How about "Last 6 bands you saw live and your verdict."?

The Amenta: Pretty good, still love the band but they're so much better on CD. I totally misjudged the singer though, thought he was a biiig guy before I saw them. Turned out he wasn't. By a long shot :P

Order of (something... I forgot): not very interesting. Best part was the lead guitar player, a fat Chinese midget :D

Delian: OK I was at McDonald's, didn't see them.

Vader: Fucking thrashed the place man, good stuff. Also: shorts + army boots *thumbs up*

Samael:
F
U
C
K
I
N
G

A
W
E
S
O
M
E

Period.

Deicide: Bleh. Rednecks. Best part was making up the subject of the songs. "I think this one is about romantic candlelight dinner"

Overall: great night. Samael fucking rocked. Best shot of the evening:

In Flames at Club Nokia in LA with Gojira on November 22nd. Both bands were great. In Flames didn't disappoint, even threw in some great surprises ("The Jester Race", "Satellites and Astronauts" :!: ).

Gojira made a fan out of my wife and I.

All that Remains sucked.

Metallica at the Forum in LA on December 18. Awesome. 6 tracks from the new record, "Ride The Lightning", "The Four Horsemen", "Breadfan", "Motorbreath"... Unfortunately there were four staple tracks from the Black Album, the acoustics were poor and they stopped serving beer early, but the rest of the show made up for it.
:guitar:

Next up: Meshuggah at the House of Blues in Hollywood.

Don't they have a female bass player? Was she any good... random question, I know; but being a female bass player, I keep other female bass players on my radar, just out of curiosity.

Glad you had fun on the whole though! :D

No use trying to hide it, just admit you have the hots for her :D

Sab you're just jealous that she's got a fuller moustache than your and Lars put together (I bet she's a cop).

And Nathan... it must be your age ;)

EDIT: She could also be a muslim.
Or your mother.

Or your mother, the muslim-cop. Yeah that must be it :)

I hope tribute bands count....I tend not to go to big gigs (too impersonal/expensive). I saw ACDC tribute act Dirty DC on Saturday and they were really good, they sounded very similar to the real thing and were a great laugh to watch.

I did see Nickelback a few months ago- I was at a loose end that day - and although they were technically very good there's a lot of less successful bands who infuse their performances with more....feeling, I think is the word. Nickelback failed to make more than my feet move unfortunately. And they were much more expensive than Dirty DC!

Oh - and I forgot - I saw Roger Daltrey from The Who live last September at a relatively small charity gig and he was brilliant! All the artists that night were great actually.

Haha. I didnt even know The Amenta had a guitar player until I took a decent look at their myspace!

Deicide, local boys for me. Never seen them live but I hear their singer is a rather pretentious douche. I mean you kind of have to be to burn an inverted cross into your forehead.

DsD, the bassist from All That Remains is ok. I've seen them at least twice(I think...its been years) and I remember at least one of those times(if not both) they had her and she fit in with the band

Ok I saw Black Light Burns for the second time tonight. Good shit. They have a lot more emotion live now. Wes was on fire all night. He showed a lot of energy during the 3 new songs they played, all of which sound pretty damn awesome, I cant wait to hear their recorded versions. I could tell he really seemed to like their new stuff more, as did the rest of the band.

Didnt care to stay for Combichrist, not to mention I have to work tomorrow...
