When you write your songs, how do they come about? Do you all jam out a complete song? Or is it written more structually?

I was wondering how Mike plays and sings so well? I'm in a band and I find it really difficult too.

Last question, I'm in a band, any tips for composing songs/writing lyrics? You guys have such a unique sound. It's very difficult to replicate!

I saw Devin Townsend's instructional DVD ("Great Average Guitar", might be useful for guitar players/singers/musicians here, otherwise a good laugh since the man is quite mad ) and he said the secret to singing and playing at the same time is counting.
