I've gotten into nature photographing (as you can see at my DeviantART gallery, ad ad ad ad! ) and I usually
carry my camera everywhere I go.

I get myself small Fuji camera especially for carrying it around, but there was so few oportunities to take an interesting photo that I hid it somewhere at home. Serves me right.

Well the good part is, it's small and you always carry it with you anyway. Image quality is probably not as good as a digicam but those cost a lot more usually. And I think that with the recent 5MP cameraphones with real flash and optical zoom, it'll be quite alright.

Not to for me, mine phone has, uh, like, clock. And a bluetooth, to upload Textures backdrop onto it. I don't feel like spending quite a bit of money on 5mpix cameraphone (cheap ones really are borderline useless).

My phone is fairly new (Samsung Hue), and has a 2 MP cameraphone. It surprised me that you could actually adjust its white balance, as well as take pictures up to 1280x960 px.

Mine can do 1280X1024 actually, as its largest resolution. I usually just do 1024x768. It doesnt take bad pics, and it takes decent videos too.

Mine is 2 years old and can do 1632x1224, they're quite decent as long as there's plenty of light. I think it's Samsung that has a phone with 5MP and optical zoom.


On the other hand, you're right, there's always a compromise. When I just got this phone (Sony Ericsson W810i) my old MP3 player died. Since this phone is called a 'walkmanphone' which means it has a built-in MP3 player, I thought I'd give that a shot. But despite the superiour headphones (seriously, they rock), the walkman part is shite and I decided to buy a new MP3 player. But I'm sure that for some people, the functionality the phone provides for music is good enough, like the camera is good enough for me. The same way, the camera may be good enough for me but not for others... It's all about priorities.

My first phone was a Samsung (E800 or E600?) and I absolutely hated it. That was years ago though, I don't have any experience with new Samsungs.

I haven't had any complaints so far with mine! Mine also has the mp3 player, but only came with a 256 mb card, so I bought a 1gb card when I found one that was cheap.
