No-one can upload their own avatars currently. Feel free to pick one from the galleries, or stay avatar-less but uploading your own is broken right now. Along with many other things that need fixing...

When you're updating your profile you have to enter your password three times at the top. You may have to log in (a couple of times) every time you visit the forums. You'll get "Debug messages" about failed emails. Stuff like that, we're all aware of it and I'm sure someone will be working on it shortly.

I hope that covered your problem(s) :P

They're there for me. Click "Profile" at the top of the page, scroll down to the "Personal Information" section and it's all there. At least for me.
