I'm waiting on a fully paid 8 string from Halo. Its coming with emg 808s bridge/neck, 24 fret ebony 28', Trans black quilt maple top on mahogany body/ set mahogany neck. hope is sounds good. What do you tune to?
Its a shame that Ibanez (and, well, just about every other guitar company) neglects leftys as much as they do.

It played very nice, I was able to adjust quickly (being used to 7s already) and even fast stuff, sweeping etc. was easy to pull off. the guitar blatantly needed either a longer scale or thicker string gauge and as thicker strings usually fuck up the sound, I would say the guitar realistically needs at least another inch on the neck.
I was pleasantly surprised though, by the pickups too. I HATE the EMG 80-7s, haven't heard the 707s but if they sound anything like the 808s in that ibanez they are ok in my book
You'd figure the extra neck width would have some detriment to the playability, but no. The profile is just perfect, IMHO.

Chuck never had or used one, so why would they put one on a special edition guitar dedicated to him...?
