So I guess, if you know what you are going to do in here,
it can't be that hard.
And hey, Finland is Winland!

People here usually talk english very well (well, at least you
will be able to understand them) and many are eager to teach common finnish frases to a foreigner :D

it is in my knowledge that at least 6% of finns speak swedish rather well, jag prata lite svenska, so i think i could do well! (unless that sentence was totally wrong)

That 6% doesn't tell too much. In western Finland (like Vaasa and smaller places around it) there is a lot more people who speak swedish. Something like 25-90%. I'm not too sure about Helsinki.

You'll do just fine with english.

In Vaasa people expect you to know how to speak swedish.
That was pretty hard for me, since I moved to Vaasa
from central Finland where after swedish classes no one talks swedish EVER.

I even had to take a course at school again to get a job in here
But I am a finnish girl, so I was supposed to know it.
For a foreigner english does just fine, juuust fine.

And teaching finnish while drinking, that is SO true :D
Everyone must know how to swear and say "kippis"
But this is FINLAND, I think I need (as a finn) to know finnish and
be able to live using it and only it.
But in Vaasa.. Phew!

For Finnish guys here I have a confession :D
I am listening to Ari Koivunen's album, and I have to say
that it actually sucks :?

I'm off to Aberdeen! And then to Shetland! And then to Orkney! In a big car with automatic transmission. AAaah!

How the heck are you meant to drive an automatic? It's all wrong!

Aaaaah!

Back in a week. Hopefully.

Sometimes driving an automatic is pure pleasure, but there
have been cars that just sucked.

But they are nice. I am getting an automatic someday!
And they are so easy to operate that when driving long-distance trips falling asleep might not be too far away..

Beware! :D

Ow, and have a nice trip!

Automatics are real easy to drive, we have some at work and they're pure joy. Just take your foot off the brake carefully, then floor the throttle :P

Although long trips, automatic gearbox and cruise control might be a lethal combinatzzzzzz.... :zzzz:

My car's an automatic, and I'll never go back.

No, seriously, because I probably don't remember how to drive a manual now.

Pippin update: Your kind words must have worked, because he's now walking, although very wobbily...he loses his balance easliy and tends to walk in a circle at times, but it's at least something. :D We just have to keep him from jumping on and off the furniture and up and down stairs for the time being.

Phew!
I've had this weird bump in my ear and I beagan to fear that it was a tumor. Nope it isn't. :D Goddamn I'm relieved. It's been there about a month and it grew so naturally I paniced.

The mysterious shitball appears to be a spot. (?!?) They tend to grow for some time and then explode in any public place they find and give me a couple of nicknames but I think I can handle that.
