I've asked myself the same question way too often during the last weeks, months and years. I certainly had and still have enough trouble with authorities myself, but I absolutely hate this ultra-hip, no-respect-at-all attitude so many kids seem to come up with these days. This shit can really make me angry within two seconds.

I just got so fucking pissed off and told them to get the fuck out of the seat before I ripped them a new one. And they did. All people need is discipline from an early age. The kids are becoming shitheads, because most of the parents these days suck. They either ignore their children's feelings, or over-protect their children, which makes them think they're invincible and the best people in the world.
A lot of children get their values from television and even videogames. Everything is about children; save the children, and all that crap. I'm not saying that you should hit your children, but there is nothing wrong with teaching your child some discipline. There are even some parents who are afraid of their children.. what the fuck? Children should get their values and life-lessons from their parents and their school.
I don't know if you guys saw the movie "Idiocracy" from Mike Judge. Ofcourse it's a comedy (maybe a not so good comedy), but the whole premise of 'people with an IQ handicap' getting (more) children, and the more intelligent, 'yuppies' if you will, are not, seems to be or become a reality. I'll probably sound like an arrogant a$$hole, but it seems that most of today's parents don't know what they're doing... at all.

Apart from that, I think you pretty much nailed it. What lots of parents call "modern education" these days unfortunately can be translated into "No education at all", and this attitude is one of the worst "contributions" to society I can think of.

my mum is the number one english teacher in scotland and has been sued twice this year (she got off on both counts) by parents claiming that she refuses to let kids redo essays after they are found to cheat. 90% of everything is shite that goes for people too.
