What do you mean, "it's not there anymore"?
The teaser you mean? It is! I didn't take it down.

dude

do you have a fear factory tribute coming on ?

Your logo is an homage to them ... Or a rip off

The Logo is the headstock shape of one o' my guitars.
I never really dug into FF...always thought they were...
...well, all in all a little bit boring. Well, all a matter of taste...
It's been AGES I've been listening to some of their songs.
"Obsolete" was the last album I took a glimpse at.
I rememeber Fear Factory havin' a double-F logo back then...
But it looked way different from the TF-logo.
An ellipse containing two merged, very raw F's or something.
By the way...as I said before, the TF-logo is still under construction.
The left small peak will have to go, to make it a real T&F and not
two F's, one straight, one mirrored. Also a little elliptic globe will be
fit into the elliptic carving at the top.

ah ok ...

I don't listen to FF but yes, their logo is pretty similar

Like I said...I'm not familiar with their newer stuff.
So they've changed their logo, I see...
Indeed, I can't deny similarities...

Okay, lads and lassies...

I decided to finally...START...(thx for the applause :) )

BUT...Like ALWAYS when I start a new production I go
for some presets first. That means that I'll pre-record
and pre-mix like hell to find the perfect tones, eq- and
compressor settings. During my time as a sound-tech
I've learned that it'll save one HELL-of-a-lot-of-time to
have everything as close as possible to the final sound
even BEFORE mixing it down. The more you do before,
the less you'll have to do afterwards. And 'cause there
can NEVER be done enough AFTERwards, that sure is
a fine thing. ;)

So I'll sit down now and record some stuff, that I'll
release once it's done, to ease your couriosity on
how TF might sound like in the end a little.

Stay tuned!

Dan

By the way...the song you'll get to hear will be "LOVE?"
by SYL. No TF stuff YET, sorry...I still have to make some
decisions on the material and on with whom to record it.
(The drums, that is...All other stuff will be done by me)

Welcome back!

I've been listening to "LOVE?" all day to figure out how the
drums are played. I have recorded the first minute of the
song to start a raw test-mixdown. I'm VERY pleased with
the outcome, keeping in mind that it took only 10 minutes
to get there. Recording guitars and mixing the whole shit
that is...recording that tiny piece of drums took me 3 hours ;)

I've sent the file to two test-critics (out of this forum) to
get their opinion on the mix. Let's see what they have to
say... :)

Cool, I'm all exited about finally hearing something. From the sounds of the process you've gone through to get this far I'm fairly confident it will sound pretty good. Congratulations and keep up the good work.

Well, I could try to get into detail now. But concerning your last two posts... I just hope to find a nice little link here within the next few days, allowing me to listen to your version of Love.

Well, of course. The standards: Keep up the good work and lotsa mental support (feel the viiiiiibes... Oh yeah)

I've uploaded the teaser now.

Check it out under http://www.ic-musicmedia.com/Terraformer
Be quick about it though...It won't be there for long.
I broke every rule of the site (no copyrighted material/covers or
shortened down demo versions) so I'll have to hurry or they'll ban
me from the site once they find out. ;)

This is a rough mixdown of the parts of "LOVE?" I have recorded yet.
A little bit over-compressed sometimes (frequency distortion) but nice
though. Lemme think what you know.

I'll post the complete song as soon as I can.

Dan

P.S.
I just listened back to the mp3 version of the teaser and noticed
a funny glitch. During the conversion from wav to mp3 the first
half second of the left channel got lost. So you'll get the first
"dada-la-dada-la-daaaaa" only from the right channel. Right in
time the left channel kicks in afterwards then. I dunno what
caused this (the wav file is fully intact) but I won't replace the
mp3 with a new one, cause it's a kinda cool (though unplanned)
gimmick.

Alrighty then! Just listened to the Love - sample.

And dude, concerning that it's just a rough mix, this sounds really promising. I'd love to hear it with you doing vocals on it soon, so keep up the good work (maybe not the first time I said it in this thread, but wtf)

Oh, just on a side note, for how long have you been playing guitar by now?

why don't you try pimping your stuff somewhere where it's legal to store stuff, like megaupload?

waiting for the music to hit the fan ;)

Thx for the positive feedback, lads...

@Vesper
Thx for the tipp, man! I'll upload the complete song there then.

@Chris
Phew, hard to say...I got my guitar when I was seventeen (x-mas 1997).
But I'd say that I started to REALLY PLAY it in the autumn of 2000, when
I changed to Devs open tuning.
