Yay one more newbie, it's me!

I'm Biert, I live in the south of The Netherlands (any Dutch around?), 20 years old and I'm a fulltime IT-student.
I've been into Strapping Young Lad and Devin Townsend for not too long yet, since I read an interview with Devin about Alien in some metal magazine I bought for a two-and-half hour train trip. It spoke of the heaviest music around, pushing the boundries of metal and noise... I liked that! So I decided to check out some SYL and man was I blown away.
Last week I bought some of Devin Townsends albums (Terria and Infinity) and I liked that as well! Lots of similarities but much more subtle and musical I guess.
Besides SYL and DTB (and of course the brutalness of Zimmers Hole) I'm really into Swedish progressive death metal Gods Opeth. Together with a guy I know I put up a forum: www.theamencorner.tk. Check it out if you want. It's a small forum, but hey, we managed to arrange an interview with Opeth, somewere mid-september! I'm so excited, they're my biggest heroes.
Anyway, questions are welcome of course, I'll see if I can make a sensible reply.

Yeah, they're very Patton (particularly Mr. Bungle) inspired, but they bring a lot of their own uniqueness to the table as well. They're great guys, and have become one of my favorite bands as a result.

I havent been into devin for too long...it all started when I got "The Human Equation" CD. devin was one of my favourite singers in the whole cd. so one day I found "Infinity" in a store and bought it.

I only have DTB - Infinity, Accelerated Evolution and SYL - SYL.
gonna get more of them soon, I hope.
