Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

I won't comment on this whole butt-thing now... (Damn, I told you not to talk about it in public!!!)

I bought The Eye of every Storm last year not too long after it was released, and I have to admit that it was my first Neurosis CD. It didn't click rightaway, but after awhile... It just blows me away. Parts of it are so minimalistic, yet so intense. I think you'll know what I mean when I say that Neurosis are one of the heaviest bands I EVER heard.

I got all their regular releases except for the first two because they have nothing to do with what Neurosis do since Souls at Zero. If you don't have it yet, check out the "A Sun That Never Sets" DVD...quite an amazing experience. Also Neurosis&Jarboe. Not sure if I will buy the live records because I think the visual aspect is very important for a Neurosis live show. But I am thinking about buying some Tribes of Neurot records.

As for ear pleasure....it's Meshuggah's Nothing right now.

If I was a rich girl... nanana... *sing*

Besides their live shows, Neurosis make very visual music, I think. I often see their songs in colours. No, I didn't smoke, you know, the sort of thing Dev often talks about when it comes to describing his albums. Concerning the visual aspects, maybe only Terria was a stronger experience for me. That's why I'd love see the DVD someday. I have the album, and it's amazing. But it costs about 25€ as far as I remember, and... Fuck. Maybe I'm gonna buy Times of Grace next, but I'd like to give Neurosis&Jarboe a try too, and... Hm. Back to the Gwen Stefani quote!

I'm thinking about demanding money from you for my sexual services...

Of all the Neurosis I own, Times of Grace is my least favorite. It feels so ... incomplete. The only time it really does anything for me is when it's synched with Grace. Sure, it's cool to do that but having to in order to get anything out of the album = shitty.

That's surprising, I heard some people calling it one of their best, if not THE best Neurosis album so far.

I've got the Sovereign EP, and I think it was recorded along with Times of Grace, or am I completely wrong here? As far as the EP is concerned, I call it simply amazing.

But opinions on ToG are welcome, so... Lars?

I like Times of Grace quite a lot. I also think it's one of Neurosis's best efforts. It's already partly a bit more mellow than their earlier stuff but still great stuff. But it just can't beat Through Silver In Blood which is their best one IMO, at least of their heavier records. BUT I do agree...ToG is better with Tribes of Neurot's Grace played along. But it's quite a headfuck that way in my opinion. I think you can buy all Neurosis records since Souls At Zero without regretting it. The first two records are OK as collector's items but really don't have anything to do with what Neurosis have done since Souls At Zero.

Lars: Ok, thanks a lot. So far I have The Eye of every Storm, A Sun that never sets and the Sovereign EP, so I shouldn't have any trouble with Times of Grace being more mellow.

Maybe I'll go along their discography backwards album by album. Now all I need is some money, and then... wooha!

Oh yeah, what really pissed me off: The Sovereign EP has a link to download another four tracks. Perhaps it's because of I got the CD some years after its release, anyway, the link doesn't work and I can't get these goddamn songs...

ToG is not mellow, it just has some mellow parts. And about the Sovereign Bonus Tracks, I had the same problems but found those songs on p2p before so I didn't really care. I think those will be up sooner or later again as soon as Neurosis find the time to finally completely update their website which could take another 10 year

Yeah, I also called it more mellow (in comparison to what their older albums must be like)

Listening to Live in Hyde Park... That's what I call a real LIVE record
