Update time...

There's news to share, and GOOD news that is!
"Terraformer" definitely WILL be available to everyone interested
in the project. I met Devin last week and asked him if he'd mind
if I'd make "Terraformer" available to the public once it's done.
Well, he DOESN'T...he even pushed me to do so. This eases things
up a lot, cause now there'll be only one version of the record.

Right now I'm quite tired, but I'll write a detailed report on
the "terraforming-progress" on Sunday. And, who knows...
Maybe I'll HAVE something for you then that'll help to (finally)
ease your curiousity a bit...

I need some sleep now...

Heya, lads!

The first teaser is ready to get released! Tonight my drummer Mike
and me sat down and recorded a little session. I've found no place
to upload it yet, but if you're keen on takin' a glimpse at the process
you can request the teaser by e-mailing me.
By the way...I'd really appreciate some tips on where to put stuff
online for free...My "Terraformer"-domain ain't up yet, so I'll have
to improvise and put the stuff somewhere else for now.

Some words on the teaser itself. It's a rehearsal room "live"-recording.
I was too friggin lazy to program a tempo-map for Mike to hold on, so
we played both at once, to make it easier for him to stay in-time and
to know were in the arrangement he was moving during the recording.
The drums were recorded through some crappy Samson drum mics,
the guitars were recorded direct. No vocals yet, sorry...We did the
recording 20 minutes before we left our lousy little rehearsal room,
so there was no time to add vocals tracks.
If you listen closely there's lotsa playing mistakes in it, so be a little
forgiving...Mike was completely stoned, while I was fuckin tired and slightly drunk.

Well, it's only a preview/teaser anyway...You asked for an insight
on the project, so here it is...like it or not...

I listened to the compact song, and I was getting a total Dev vibe from it. So if this is what you set out to do, you more than succeeded.

Wow thats sounds great, there was something about the cymbals that was getting to me though. Other than that it really did sound amazing nice work. Can't wait for more!

Just to say that I heard the compact you made available, and I liked it very much. The very beginning sent me instant Devy vibes. I know that when it is perfected and loaded with tons of vocals (I hope), with will be awesome.

No plans for the artwork yet. BUT...if you're experienced and
interested in doing something like this...you're welcome!
Send me a private message and I'll tell you what I have in mind.
There's some rough ideas yet, but nothing really determined.
A logo, that one of my lads created and that I like very much,
already exists, but that doesn't mean that I'd limit you in altering
it or even creating a completely new one, if you're interested in
doing the job. As I said...just contact me, if there's any interest.

Don't take this recording too serious...It's a rough take,
recorded during a jam session. It doesn't even deserve
to be called a "mix", cause I just pushed the whole stuff
through a multiband compressor afterwards, without much
EQing or fading. For the cymbal-sound...could you specify
what exactly caught your attention?

I thought that may have been worded badly.

It was supposed to be a very positive critique as I absolutely enjoyed it very much.

I thought the song was very nice! I was quite impressed with the guitar sound, I normally don't like direct in sounds but this one sounded very Devy-ish.

I want to hear the full thing now, how are you going to release it? MP3 download etc?

Well, it's actually not a song...it's just some riffs from different
TF songs played in a row...but they fit so nice that one could assume
it's an excerpt from a complete song. Well, as I said before I MIGHT
do something like a "compact"-song...Maybe at the end of the record,
or even at the very beginning. You know, like a summary of things to
come. Yeah, right now I REALLY consider doing it, cause I start to like
the raw arrangement that I made available too. It would have to be
extended then, of course, for it right now is simply a combination of
riffs of only two different songs: "Core Meltdown" and "Full Eclipse"

By the way...that gives me a VERY nice idea...that leads straight to
your next question. How I'm gonna publish it, I mean.
You see, I don't wanna make money with "Terraformer", for it is
supposed to be a "thank you"-gift for Devin. If I'd SELL something
like this I'd feel like a whore. BUT...and here comes the idea:
Along with the "big"-version, that Devin will recieve, I'll do a
"Compact"-version of the record, that'll be available for free.
That one will be about 25-30 minutes then, I guess...
But if one wants to listen to the full version he/she'll be able to
order it from me. You see, I don't wanna publish the "Dev-Version"
via MP3...Why? Cause, seen through my eyes, that would somehow
make it "cheap"...The big version will come on disk only, along with
a printed booklet and a "Terraformer" T-Shirt...and a "special"-bonus...
But I'll have to contact Devin about that before I can tell more about it.
Wow, lads...I just got struck by a VERY nice idea...
Forgive me if I break my post right now...I'll have to think this through.

Hey diddnt want to sound too harsh it is sounding great. About the cymbals its possible they're just a bit too loud for my tastes really and a bit distorted sounding but thats probally just from the mp3 format. Everything else is sounding great through

even if you say it's not very produced and mixed etc. it sounds just fine to me sound-wise. I'm getting massive Devy-waves from this one and you definitely NAILED the style, bro
