It's a tough call. The album is amazing but, all I know is that I'm trying to get my bandmates to learn either Material or Irish Maiden to cover!
"Use your open eye, Frank..."
ive finally come to the conclusion this is one of Devs coolest albums. i always here of people bashing it and saying its no good, but to me i cant get enough of it. if i am in the mood for Dev - this album generally gets the nod for me to listen!!
but im confused by Dev sayin its more of a sideways step than a forward step in the audio commentary. is he disappointed with the outcome? it just brings something else to his music that his other albums dont imo.
best songs would be planet rain, jupiter, namaste, material, victim, the complex, kingdom

It's got to be Planet Rain. Takes me away to a special place.
Woo, I've just joined and my first intention was to visit this Physicist Archive XD..
Anyway, I voted Material cos I love the lyrics, I was contemplating voting Planet Rain.. but Material came first!

'..you dont want to see somebody disappear into chaos, you dont want to see somebody scratching and clawing there way towards death..'
I love Kingdom. Lately The Complex has really grown on me to be my new second favorite on the album.
Irish Maiden, Jupiter.oohhh all of it .Why Devy.. why don't you like this album?????? Devy IS like sex. Even when he's bad it he's still fucking great. Mindless self endulgence Why not!!! Why/ whynot??

Used to be Kingdom, but now I'd have to say Planet Rain, I still get chills listening to it. Jupiter would probably be a close second though, I wish it was longer! The whole album is brilliant though.
Physicist is its own life form in my opinion, maybe more than any other of his albums. It's right up there with City and OM and Terria as my fav Dev records. I think he was pretty mentally f'd up when he wrote it though, which I'm guessing is why he doesn't like it as much..either that or it's not as polished in his mind, seems like I've read that somewhere before too. There's just something so spontaneous about it; the way it captures raw emotion is just f'ing amazing. There's no over-thinking like he seems to do on his more recent albums.
