There is so much going on that I can only assemble a little at the time and my focus is always changing from time to time, so in that way it's quite a exiting listen. Headphones recommended! ;)

I was very exited when I first heard that he was going to do an ambient album, since I really, really love the way he uses keyboard-textures and noice in his songs. There's a whole lot going on in the background on most of his other projects that is kinda hard to hear, but it just completes the whole "wall of sound"-experience.

I like Devlab a lot! It's nice to be able to hear the stuff that's generally in the background, up front for once :)
Thanks Dev!

btw.. I think this is my first post.. hmm hope I don't seem like a complete moron ;)

Excellent first post, sir.

Thanks, that's a relief to hear :)
Just thought I'd give my two cents..
Devlab is fascinating, I like the intro a whole lot! *lol*
"I'm gonna melt you guys!"
A really retarded and fun way to open an ambient album ;)

Hell yeah, Bird! Nothing like reading out loud from glue gun instructions.

Exactly. I've never experienced that with any other record. It sounds different to the point you start suspecting Dev snuck into your livingroom at night and exchanged the CD. Amazing.

I totally agree here.

I think this is maybe due to the way it is 'structured', or the lack of one! The track timing/numbering is pretty irrelevant. There is little points of reference to help you recognise where you are on the disc, so every time you listen to it you get 'lost'. And in this case, it is a very strange place (sonically) to be lost!

And the phrase "I'MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm gonna melt you guyssss" is now used regularly by me, and it makes no sense to anybody.

I like how he didn't bother to name the tracks. he could have very easily made it into one long "song", but it's nice to be able to skip to certain cool parts.

I think it wouldnt have been either irrelevant or pretentious to name the tracks on an album like this. I think it would be missing the point to attempt such a thing.

Random beautiful moment: Track 5, 1:20-ish onwards. Absolutely amazing! Sends a chill down my spine.

Yeah, that part is great. I prefer the part a little bit further into the song, though.
"The solution is easy. KKRRRCHHH!"
That part.

Also, since this thread has reached it's 16th page, I think it is time to say yes, I have heard Devlab.

I would if I knew how. But you should just order it. It's pretty cheap.

im real tight on money right now and just feel like hearing a few tracks before i purchase. Since a lot of people dont like it, i dont want to spend my money on something and become dissapointed. If it was any other dev release, i would buy it in a heartbeat. and i dont feel like waiting for it to come in, i feel like hearing it :)

I just ordered this cd from hd records, I can't wait to hear what you guys are describing. I listen to music while I sleep ( http://www.bluemars.org ), maybe this would be a good cd to put on repeat.
