No offense to AE, but I think Infinity is a much, much better release all around. I can't see why both records have the same votes. Maybe it's because AE is a relatively more recent disc.

"Ocean Machine" is my favorite out of Devin Townsend's solo collection. The singing, the music, the emotion, and the sheer joy of listening to it over and over again and getting something new out of it everytime. It is truly special and just about perfect to me.

Ocean Machine and Terria are tied for my favs, with Infinity and Physicist close behind.
Although I do have an Ocean Machine Touque and Long sleeve shirt and no Terria merch?? I guess I subconciously like OM more?

1. Terria (Eart Day, Canada, Deep Peace, Fluke, Stagnant,
2. Accelerated Evolution (Depth Charge, Dead Head, Suicide, Sunday Afternoon)
3. Ocean Machine (Seventh Wave, Life, etc)

favs on each album

to choose only one is absurd!
1. Terria
2. Physicist
3. Infinity
4. AE
5. Ocean Machine
6. No sleep till bedtime
7. city
8. SYL
9. Heavy as a really heavy thing

that is the order in which i usually listen to them in. I usually choose these records to listen to before any other records, these and the sabbath records without ozzy.

There all great album's but i would have to choose Ocean Machine, I got hooked on this album ages ago and hasn't left my pile of CD's that i play all the time. Next in line would be Infinity, love Bad Devil & Christeen \m/ \m/

I have been listening, and i think Terria is the best one, but i really enjoy AE. I think those 2 are tied for my favorites, but i tihnk Terria is more of an amazing work of art than AE.

Fuck yah. That song unsettles me. It's the only song to ever make me feel like I'm dying. It completely threw me off balance the first time I heard it. And Ocean Machine is as close to perfect as I've ever heard an album sound, so that easily gets my vote. I don't like the Strat sound or the vibrato/butt-clench vocals Dev lets loose sometimes on Terria or AE. OM is and will always be the most amazing album I've ever laid ears on (unless of course the new "green" album changes my mind. :) )

old topic but... voted Accelerated Evolution, simply cannot get enough of this album, fantastic from front to back, cover to cover, very emotional, very nice sound, altogether bloody-excuseme-brilliant. Depth Charge, Storm, Deadhead, Suicide, Away... gahahaha *gurgling sounds, falls uncoscious from awesomeness*

I feel the need to whinge and bitch about how poorly Infinity is scraping up next to the mammoth votes the other two bigguns are getting.... In my opinion, Infinity is the best, but is also a part of the Holy Trinity, very difficult to seperate, but I do think Infinity is better. I find it amusing that so few people who visit this forum have open enough minds to appreciate the true genius stuff that is at work in Infinity... Complexity unequalled in any of his other works. Oh well.....

I know what you mean, I voted for Infinity too. I would have thought more people would vote on that album. I think it has also to do with the fact that we're both musicians. Probably musicians find Infinity the best album, because of the way it was written, the rhythms, etc. Also the fact that it took him like, what 8 months or something, to record this album. That to me is reason enough to think this is the best album. Devin's perseverance is something which inspires me always.

one can biatche and whine (:P) all he/she wants to, but truth is it all comes down to tastes, and there is absolutely no part to saying who's right. Personally I see all Dev albums as utterly fantastic, but for me, AE is the one I can most relate to, feel the most for, and can listen to again and again and again and... you get the picture.

I agree though, Infinity is one heck of an album too. In fact I'm listening to it right now.
