Someone who loves a drink but doesn't for health reasons. I too had no idea that breweries were such a haven for twats.

If I had any musical talent at all, I think I may have just found the perfect group name.

OMG! Some f***ing jackass just put his bag down on the seat opposite me on the train. He didn't say a word, and I assumed he'd just a popped to the bin behind me, but he didn't return. So I ask the other people in the carriage if they saw where he went and they hadn't, so I stopped working, packed up my laptop and drag my 6 months pregnant body (thank you to all the polite people who got up and offered to go instead by the way!) and big laptop bag the entire length of a moving train, repeatedly bashing my arms which are insanely sore from all of the needles that have been in them in the last week and struggling to keep my balance to find the guard to report it. Oh, and my sciatica kicked in on the way too. When I get to the guard and say "I'm sure he's probably just gone to the loo and made it back by now" the moron who's bag it is appears and says "oh yes, that's mine" as if it's completely normal to just dump your bag on a busy commuter train ....I was about ready to strangle him!

Things with my father's estate are just shy of a month in and I am already looking at a possible mental hospital stay followed by changing all contact information to facilitate disowning the responsible parties.

I wouldn't say all breweries are full of douche nozzles, but there's a fair share. Being a brewer has a level of glamour around it in the brewing world, like Kleo said, which can lead to having a very bloated head on their shoulders; i.e. that their shit doesn't stink. Which is funny, because brewing pays shit (unless you own the place) and other than producing an objectively desirable product (depending on personal palate) it's really the direct opposite of glamour. Depending on where your breweries at you may be working 50-60 hours a week, doing fairly monotonous work producing the same beers over and over (save for the occasional special), etc. I've seen brewers who's relationships suffer or completely fall apart because they're always at the brewery. Yet, somehow despite all that, you have the arrogant pricks. That said, there are still plenty of brewers who just love what they do despite the difficulties and don't feel the need to shove it in others' faces.

Really the biggest issue at my brewery was that my boss who's the owner and has been brewing for something like 20 years had this attitude that everyone was replaceable, something he didn't even keep to himself. It's not very motivating to excel in a job if the boss treats you like you're simply hired meat that's disposable. Beyond that too the brewery had part of it's ownership based in this big dining conglomerate here that I think helped toward that type of thinking. What I've found here is the breweries not at all related to that conglomerate tend to treat their employees way better and have happier, kinder brewers.

And that is a tale of New Mexico brewing politics no one asked for :)

And yeah, I'm gonna keep drinking the beer despite all that....

Yep. It's official. I have a travel restriction in place for my own health. Family is ignoring it and doing what they want but if they go outside the terms of the trust, I have official documentation.

That's some heavy stuff you're going through, Kleo.

I hope you find your way through it soon. :)

I will. Luckily, I legit like Idina Menzel so getting "Let it ago" stuck in my head everytime my brother does some bullshitty new thing is welcome. Except for the fact that mentioning this makes the wife want to watch Frozen again. Argh. Fuck. Time to go get that thing at the hardware store. Oh crap. I am being such a dude.

My car is being serviced today. Just got a call explaining everything that needs doing and it's going to cost me around 1000 euros. Ouch.

Have just had confirmation that my suspicions about the church as an organisation were completely true - bunch of dishonest, money grabbing so and sos with absolutely no moral integrity

Was out walking today and was about 3 blocks from home I suddenly needed to get to the facilities, right then.
With every step my mouth grew smaller and the voice in my brain got louder, assuring me I'll make it, I'll make it...
I didn't make it.
Curse you, butter curry!!!

Thanks. Fortunately nobody noticed (to my knowledge) and balance has since been restored.
