Kicking my unemployment in the teeth, I just signed up for my first class at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York.

It may be nothing but this will be quite good for me.

Nice dude!

Well um... I have obtained employment at um... GameStop. Not really sure that's an awesome thing. Awesome to have a job, not to have one at GameStop.

Trying to keep it as temporary as possible...

I did the gamestop thing for a bit one holiday season. It was kind of amazing from a people watching perspective.

Got a nice power sander for about 75% off. Should be loads of fun in the kitchen. Then we get to paint. Looking forward to that one.

This might seem strange to put in this Awesome thread, but it will make sense. I'm mainly putting this here because I've mentioned our separation before (not certain if anyone really cares to know more but hey, why not). Also we aren't revealing the decision to the masses just yet, and I just want to write it out somewhere.

My wife and I are filing for divorce starting, earlier tonight. It's a mutual decision that we have both come to, through different things that have happened and what was going on before. September would have been our 2 year mark.

Without bogging the forum down with unnecessary details, I'll say the awesome part of this whole situation is that, even though divorce isn't a happy subject in general, there is no fighting between us. Tonight when she stopped by to help with the papers and the division of our community property and such, it was very low stress. It was as if nothing was wrong at all, and in light of what it could be, I'm very grateful that it is this way. I feel correct about our decision, and it's awesome that there isn't hatred from either of us for each other.

So yeah, divorce is a hard subject, and the future is a little uncertain for me right now, but I'm glad I'm able to go through this process in understanding and civility. That's just plain awesome.

It's a real positive that you are both able to deal with the other In an amicable and civil manner.

I'm sure many of us have seen the harm that a spiteful split can have, so I'm pleased that you don't have that to add to what's already a challenging situation, my friend.

Thinking of you bro! :)

Mum's 60th birthday is coming up. I'm making four cakes and a gigantic tapas ...thingy. Given how much I enjoy cooking (and eating!), it's going to be quite enjoyable. :D I reckon it'll take me about three days to get it ready.

Now that's not entirely true! I would like this post of awesomeness to be about our own Justin, for being an exceedingly excellent human being. Cheers to you. I can safely say I know a top notch guy in Australia. Aw hell, Bookwyrm, you're in here too. All you Aussie's on this forum: you all rock. :string:

Divorce does rock.

My abuse/neglect case kitty just trotted in to purr at and headbutt me. She's coming along so well.

One of my best friends has been going through a very shitty time at home so I persuaded her to come on holiday with a couple of my mates she didn't know (but knew they'd get on), we all had an amazing time and she hit it off with one of the lads big time, they're now completely head over heels in love and she keeps telling me she's not been genuinely happy for such a long time. I could not be more made up; she's such a sweet, hilarious, pretty girl who never gets a break in life and now she's being spoilt rotten by one of the most charming blokes I've ever known. Even if it doesn't last, at least she's got something nice. She's my ickle baby.
