just recently discovered Devins work, not into SYL just yet but really enjoying the rest

cant wait to explore more and other bands within this genre as i have never looked into the prog/experimental genres before

Welcome to the forums, and to the world of all things Dev.

Worked your way through the catalogue yet? There's a lot of amazing stuff in there. Old gits like me are big on some of the older work like Ocean Machine, Terria and Infinity and of course there's all the lovely newer stuff Dev's been doing which is incredible also.

It's hard to find exact soundalikes when it comes to Dev, which I guess is part of his musical charm.

A band by the name of Textures is quite similar at times, as is Tesseract. Cloudkicker is a clever chappy, and our fellow forumite Dan has a quite brilliant project called The Omega Experiment, which I very much recommend.

I could recommend others but it really depends on how your tastes normally sway. If you look in the General Discussion forum you'll see the what's pleasuring your ears discussion - it's a hugely varied mix but a good way to find stuff that interests other fans.

Anyway, don't be shy about commenting around here. Opinions always welcomed!

i have quite an eclectic musical taste really, i like classic blues and ska, metal and rock so im pretty open minded, i shall go check out the forum thread now!
